Looking up to the large stone church, Austin stood there, frowning. The wind blowing his dark hair was hardly a distraction from his gaze. he thought about all the times his mother had told him about churches. how they had helped so many people. She would tell him about God, and how he would answer the prays of those you called for him within prayer. Pathetic, he thought.
Sighing out, he turned away from the building, looking to the ground. Memories of his family, still burning in his head like it was yesterday. the day he went hunting for the first time, the day his mother taught him to cook. it was painful to imagine. "Why did they do this to me...." Austin asked himself, kicking the dust from the floor. He then raised his head, thinking about those +anima he fed, before he was dishomed. Maybe there we others he could help.
The sun placed itself in the middle of the daytime's sky, looking like a perfect pendent. Austin heard some voices, but didnt know whether it was his mind playing tricks on him from the heat. or whether it was a sign of what was to come?

Ren layed in the grass not far off from the church. It was a nice fall day, though a bit chilly. Her head throbbed horribly. She guessed she was sick; she had just woken up from a five hour nap. But, if she was sick, she didn't know what she was sick with. The sun above shined brightly in her eyes. If only she could make it to the church to lay her head down on something softer than her bag.
One question she kept asking herself was why no one seemed to notice her. She wasn't that far from the path, was she? Maybe if she could just look up over the grass to see, but- ouch! It hurt her head just too much to look over the tall grasses.
She layed her head back down on her bag. It wasn't the most confortable thing, but it'd have to do until she felt good enough to walk to the church. At the moment, she wasn't hungry and she didn't expect herself to be. No the less, she was bored. She couldn't fall back asleep because of the sun and she didn't bring toys with her when she traveled.
"Help anyone?" she asked in a weak, croaked voice as she looked up at the sun. She rolled over onto her side, her hands under her head to provide some extra confort and it helped a little, but not much.

Austin heard the voice again. He raised himself to his feet, looking around for the source. in the distance, he saw someone, laying in the grass. Sure, it wasn't close, but his eyes weren't failing him yet. Sighing out, a little annoyed, the lone boy walked over to the person. "Whats wrong?" He said, in a tired out sounding voice.
Tapping his foot, waiting for an answer, he knelt down beside the figure, resting a hand on her forehead. "hmm....hello? can you hear me?" This time, his voice sounded a little more sympathetic.

Ren could see a blurry vision of someone, but she could tell it wasn't someone from the church. He spoke to her and when she tried to speak back no sound came out. He spoke again. She swallowed and tried again to talk.
"Yeah...I can hear you" she said softly. d**n, her head hurt. "I just...feel sick" she said, feeling that the boy resting his hand on her head. It felt like her head was playing the drums and her throat felt ubber dry- possible from not having any water with her. In other words, she just felt plain sick.
"Can...you help...me?" she asked looking up at the boy.

Austin heard her voice was dry. "Shhh, dont strain yourself" the boy said as he took out a bottle of water. Of course, he wouldnt normally give out his precious liquid to strangers, but she was in need. Pouring a little into his hand, he gently lifted her up with his other arm, and held the water to her lips. "Drink up, this will help your throat. Tell me, what else is wrong?" He knelt there, feeding her the water little by little.

As the boy let her drink some cool water, she began to think if anything else hurt. No, it was just her head and it hurt like hell.
"My...head..." she said. "It hurts..." she stated blankly. Wait, no, that wasn't the only thing that hurt. Her body. Her body was warm, too warm. "...and I feel hot..." she added only concertrating on her throbbing head.
She smiled before passing out. This guy was nice. Usually, people would pass her by and let someone else deal with her. Well, she guessed this was the guy that everyone else dumped her apon.

Blinking, he thought about how he could help. His mom had taught him about a medicine, made from some strange leaves. He concentrated on these leaves, thinking where they would be. Even if he could remember, they wouldnt be near. After hearing she was hot, he sighed again, taking some of the water, and dabbing drop onto her forehead, wrists and ankles. This was were the veins seemed to be closer to the surface, ergo it should cool her, he thought.
"I'll have to take you with me to get to the leaves." austin announced as he helped her up carefully.

"Alright" Ren said weakly as he helped her get up. Maybe she could sit some where cooler, like under a tree or something shady and not under the sun. Dispite the fact that is was almost winter, it still felt warm in the sun, making herself feel really hot.
"I'm...Ren" she said. He at least had the right to know her name. She didn't even mind if he didn't tell her his; she was just greatful that he was helping her.

He looked back to her, holding her carefully. "....Austin" he said in a quiet voice, as he continued to walk towards the church. It be the fact he was doing the right thing, or the intence heat on his head, but he felt kinda of good, proud even, for helping someone so vunerable in their time of need.
The plant he was looking for was an unusual one, a distant relative to the abon plant. It was fairly small, and had a delicate white flower, not much bigger than a pebble. Austin tried to remember where he had seen the flower, but it just wouldnt come to him. sighing out, he rested the girl under a tree, close by. "Hmmm, if i was there 2 weeks ago, it'll take a few days to find the plant walking. but im sure there were others near here....GAH!" The boy held his head, thinking about the location of the stupid flower, in his own words. Looking to ren, he sighed, and calmed down. "Have you seen a small white flowered plant?"

A small...white flowered...plant? she thought to herself wearily, closing her eyes tightly, trying to remember a kind of plant like that. A white flowered plant? No, well, maybe somewhere in her travels. Had she seen one on her way here? It was possible, but not likely. Then, she was concertrated on herself and how she was feeling at the moment. Then, a picture flashed in her head. She had seen one!
She nodded her head. "By the road...I think..." she said softly, her head hurting from when Austin had yelled suddenly.

By the road? He looked forward, thinking of the road sides. most of the time, the roads we're packed with horses and carts, and the dust would cover any visable plant life. Knowing the one spot it would be now, he moved quicker, following the road, trying to to 'bounce' with his steps. He knew the feeling of having a heavy head, it wasnt pleasent, and he didnt want her to go through that. He looked back every so often, to check she was awake and breathing. "Ren? you ok there?" he said, kneeling for some strange reason.
Austin laid the girl gently on the ground, giving a warm smile.

Ren peaked through her closed eyes, not wanting to have the sun in her eyes. She gave Austin a nod to let him know she was still okay. She returned his smile with one of her own. He was nice and it made her feel good that she was in good hands, unless he was secertly evil, but she doubted that. He didn't look evil anyways.
"Yeah, I'm fine. You can get that flower now, if you want" she said, shutting her eyes compleatly again.

Taking off his bag, he searched, looking for his morter and pestle. "I know, luckily for you, I've found a few" He said was a soft tone of voice. He ripped the plants from the earth, and plucked off the petals and the leaves of the flower. Something about the way he chose the petals and leaves told ren he had done this before. Grinding the ingredients up, and added small amounts of water to keep the paste thin.
Austin finally finished, sighing happily. "There, this should cure your head pains" The boy announced, lifting her head slighty, and raising the bowl to her lips. "Little sips, dont drink too much."

Doing what Austin wanted her to do, she drank the potion slowly. It didn't make her feel better, but maybe it would later. She actually, didn't expect it to work instantly. When the potion was a little more than half gone, she stoped drinking. The drink didn't taste that good but, again, she didn't expect it to. It was medicne anyways.
"Thanks" she muttered.

He moved the bowl away from her lips, and wiped the little dribble, "Anytime." He smiled, and rested the bowl on the grass. "Should take about an hour to start working. but until then, you should rest. is there anywhere i can take you?" Austin said, sympatheticly. Suddenly, he gripped his arm, and grit his teeth, "Dammit, hate stitches..." He pulled up his sleeve and rubbed it, showing his +anima mark. it looked a little like a claw, but was very thin. Shoudln't he be more careful about showing his mark?
