Ryker eyes softened. "You already know the worst of my nature."
Stormcrest, looking quite dejected, looked up. "They don't know mine. I feel like a fool. All these years...." she glanced away, brushing away a tear without anyone noticing.
"I guess we'll take a few," Ryker said. "It won't take long." His heart fell as he made his goobbyes to Mouse and Shark.
"You worried they won't come back?" asked Stormcrest, frowning. Ryker shrugged.
"They seem okay, I have trust in them."
Stormcrest bit her lip. "Do you trust me?"
"If you still want to kill me, go ahead. You've almost done it a couple of times," Ryker said with a small smile.
"You're the better fighter," reminded Stormcrest.
Ryker shook his head. "That's just my Attack. THe way you fight...and Shark and Mouse...I've never fought like that before. Even my morals for fighting are messed up."
Stormcrest shrugged. "Never bothered me. Besides, you've been able to control it...three times."
"But I'll never fight without going into a killing frenzy," Ryker said as he sat down next to Stormcrest. "Never like you."
Stormcrest looked away. "You'll be fine. It wasn't your fault."
"I still feel responsible."
Stormcrest pulled up her knees. "I guess we're all fools once in awhile."
"You forgive me, then?"
Stormcrest smiled. "As you forgave me for my prejudice in that arena."
Ryker paused. "That easy? It's never been that easy for us. Usually we fight for days."
"You've forgotten," Stormcrest said sadly. "We've been at each other's throats for years."
"Ah."
Stormcrest set her hand on the ground, grabbing a handful of sirt absently. With bright eyes, she looked at Ryker. "Sundown, then?"
Ryker laughed. "Sundown."

Nodding at the pair, and saying abrupt good-byes, Shark and Mouse made their way away from the two, doing their best to get out of earshot. Finding a spot a good ways away where they could neither see the two nor hear them, they settled down on a bench.
Mouse sighed. "I wanted to know what was going on!" she complained, all her diplomacy from earlier gone, and back to her normal self. "It sounded so interesting!" She had a neverending curiosity, that got her into trouble many times. That's why she had Shark, to help her out of them.
He hit her on the head. "They wanted to be alone. There's nothing we can do about it Mouse." She nodded, leaning against her older brother. It did feel good to be alone again, together. That's how they almost always were, and they usually preferred it that way. Only a select few came within their true definition of family. Snake, Ruko, and Thofte.

Ryker walked next to Stormrest, feeling much better. Having her around was like a breath of fresh air, and suddenly he didn't feel so alone anymore. Stormcrest was the first to spot Shark and Mouse.
"You still sure about them?" she said. "You don't knw anything about their 'gang'."
"I'm pretty sure, a guy named Age pointed me to them."
"Age?" she furrowed her brow. "You meet another plus anima?"
"No, human. He just wanted information," he said. "I told him I was an anima, told him my story."
Stormcrest flashed a smile. "Too bad he couldn't hear this conversation."
"He has enough," said Ryker abruptly. Stormcrest rolled her eyes. At last they got to Mouse and Shark.
Stormcrest tapped Ryker's shoulder. "See you."
"What?" Ryker said. "You're leaving?"
"Sundown," she purred softly. Ryker relaxed. She'd be back at sundown, tommorrow.
He turned to Mouse and Shark. "Sorry if I took awhile. So, now that the worst is past, do you still want someone like me in your gang? I mean, after everything you know, will your leader still accept me?"

Sundown? Mouse wasn't sure what that meant, but she wasn't going to ask what that meant. No reason to seem nosy, even if she was just being her normal curious self. Besides, Shark would definitely hit her. Waving good-bye at Stormcrest, whom she still didn't understand, Mouse started answering Moon's question. "Of course we still want you! You can definitely still join the gang!"
Shark nodded slightly, turning his hard gaze from Stormcrest, who was rapidly disappearing behind Moon. "Yes. Snake will accept you. All +Anima are welcome, not matter what." His eyes narrowed slightly. "And I see no reason we shouldn't accept you. Absolutely none."
Mouse chimed up, nodding vigorously. "Uh-huh! There's no reason we can't let you in!" she pressed, echoing her brother's words.

"Really?" Ryker asked, still dazed with his confrontation with Stormcrest. Only an hour ago, she had been ready to rip his throat out. Stormcrest had always beent he one to make split decisions, but she hated to admit she was wrong. Ryker looked up towards the sky. Sundown. It was a word that had so much meaning behind it for the two of them. It reminded them that though times were hard, there was a promise of a brighter day. It meant they could turn there backs on what is done, forget it.
Stormcrest's real name had been Chiera, but they had both changed their identites when they first escaped. He had changed his name to Sundown. When Stormcrest and he fought, she went back to calling him Ryker, signifying the end of their friendship. But he had always called her Stormcrest.
"So," Ryker said. "Where are we headed?"
He glanced back where Stormcrest had disappeared. What was she up to?

"Maggie Vil!" announced Mouse promptly, swinging back and forth on her heels. "We gotta meet up with Snake there. You've gotta meet him, and then we'll get our next assingment!" Tipping her head to the side, she added to her statement. "You don't have to come with us once we get our mission. You just gotta meet Snake before you do anything else."
Shark nodded at his sister's words. "True. However..." He stopped, before continuing. "We will have to inform him about your... situation. Are you alright with that, Moon?" His narrow, and still ever aloof, eyes sought out his. If it was not okay with the younger boy, then he wasn't sure what he would do. Turn him down? He wasn't sure...

Ryker frowned. What if Snake was uncomfortable with him, would he turn them out? Mouse and Shark seemed sure that he would be accepted, but they didn't make the final decision.
"I," Ryker started. "Guess...." He had never confinded in so many anima before, it was strange. In fact, Stormcrest was the only anima that he trusted until now.
And Maggie Vil, he had never been there before. Nor had he heard of it before. Hopefully, it was a small quiet town like this, with few anima.
Or Ryker might find himself in a whole new predicament.

Mouse grinned happily at Ryker's words. "Good! I'm sure he'll like you! Snake's always really nice!" Marching forward, she led the way out of town, with Shark close behind her. "To Maggie Vil!" she announced happily, as the town disappeared behind them.
