"Excuse me, is there a town nearby?" Clora hugged herself and shivered.
"I heard Abon is near, just head north. It should take a day to get there." The man replied, pointing the right direction.
"Thank you!" Clora hugged the stranger and summoned her +Anima "I should be able to get there in a few hours!"
In awe, the man watched Clora gallop off, hooves and all. It wasn't long before a small town could be seen, and the dust started to gather. Clora took quick stops so the dust could settle before it choked her. The cold Autumn had gotten to her, too cold to thunder across the plains, she was now sleepily walking. Her grey fur had gotten long due to the up-coming winter.
Great, Clora thought, Now I'll have to groom myself. Her tail flicked away some of the disappearing flies as she inspected the area. A flower field.

Taron leant against the wall in an alley. It was cold, horribly cold. Not good, he couldnt stand it, he hated the cold weather. Why couldnt it be warm all year round, it would make life so much easier for him. Instead he was forced to pretty much hibernate for months every year, trying to keep warm and stay alive. That time of year was coming again. Great...Being cold blooded sucked.
Half-dead, he moved along the wall, looking around. Hardly anyone was out and about today, they were wise, unlike him. If he didnt get inside or make a fire soon, he might not last long. Tottering on the spot, he called out desperately, feeling stupid, but lacking the strength to conduct a proper search himself. Maybe someone would take pity and house him for atleast one night. It wasnt late, but Taron had been denied the opportunity to recharge that morning, due to the lack of sunlight, and had not been able to get a decent fire going. As a result, he was simply too weak to hunt, and just felt like collapsing on the spot.
Through the eerie silence came the faint sound of hooves, a sound that would normally be alarming if Taron didnt feel so faint. It could be the military, they rode horses and probably wouldnt care much for a sick kid on the streets, not to mention how embarassing it would be to appear infront of them in this state. Taking a deep breath, Taron tried to walk straight.

Clora took a quick glance around. All the shops were closed so she would have to get a coat or jacket tomorrow. Clora couldn't help but shiver. Not only were her arms cold, but the town was cold! No a being in sight... Apart from the ones you could see through the windows. She watched her frosty breath disappear in the air. When she was little, she would pretend to be a dragon, breathing fire everywhere. Clora laughed slightly and continued walking, there must be an inn there somewhere!Something walked into Clora and fell on the ground.
"Oops! I'm sorry! I should of looked where I was going!" Clora looked at the boy, who was now sitting on the floor. He looked about as cold and tired as she was. No, more cold and tired than she was. Clora knelt down and pulled the boy up, "You look cold, have this!"
Clora handed the boy a blanket she had in her shoulder-bag and smiled, "I'm Clora by the way."
The boy was almost jogging on the spot trying to keep warm. Clora covered her smirk with her hand.

((ZOMG i used to pretend to be a dragon and breathe fire!! thats so wierd. i thought i was just crazy))
Taron didnt see the stranger until it was too late, having been focusing too much on keeping himself steady. The fall shook him out of his daze though, and cleared his head. A hand appeared and tugged him back up. The first thing he noticed was that the hand didnt bring him any warmth; this person must be suffering as well.
The funny thing was, despite being freezing, the girl (he'd now realised) offered him a blanket. He accepted, wrapping it around his shoulders automatically and closing his eyes. Numb all over and vision hazy, Taron couldnt refuse, but part of him found it strange that she didnt use it for herself. Well...he couldnt give it back now, especially since he'd just noticed how lovely it felt, and held it tighter.
Taron opened his eyes again, about to voice his gratitude, when he met a very odd sight indeed. A horse. Or rather the body of a horse with a girl seemingly attached at the neck. He frowned, wondering if he was hullucinating...probably, it wouldnt be the first time. Deciding not to say anything, incase he might look a fool, he just turned to the girl half, the part that had spoken.
'T-Taron....thankyou C-Clora' Dangit his words wouldnt form properly. Oh well, he couldnt care less right now, talking properly was the least of his worries, though it was still anoying that he couldnt thank her easily. His eyes darted to the horse end, his face kept expressionless, albeit a bit sleepy.

((I think EVERYONE used to pretend to be a dragon ^.^ I know me and my cousins did!))
"No problem!" Clora smiled at Taron, then noticed him looking at her horse end. She dismissed her anima and laughed "Heheh, sorry about the horse-half thing!"
There was a long silence. It wasn't awkward, just... Eerie. The moon had started to rise (and it wasn't even that late) and two clouds of frosted breaths had made the air white. Clora had summoned her anima back so her fur could keep her warm. "Is there an inn here? It's a small village but everythings so confusing!"
Clora rubbed her arms warm. Who needs a blanket when you have hands!? She then realised that she had the blanket the whole time and didn't need to buy a jacket. Clora smacked her forehead, thinking about how dumb she was. Luckily, good old optimism struck her again! If she wouldn't of come to Abon, the boy would still be cold and could HAVE died? Clora flicked her tail at another fly... She felt her mind trail off... Shouldn't the flies be all dead by now? It's really cold...
Clora looked back at Taron, "What're you doing outside anyway? Are you alone? Autumn is cold this year!"

(((omg no offense, but 'could of died' is bad english XD, it anoys the hell out of me, its 'could HAVE died', its just the way people say it that makes it wrong, lol, please dont hurt me for being picky XD)))
Taron smiled back, saying nothing when Clora shifted out of, and then back into, her +anima. That was weird, watching her de-grow and then re-grow another pair of legs at the back. He wondered what that felt like; having another pair of limbs. It must have been strange for her at first...or maybe not, he didnt exactly know from experience. Well...strange as it may be, he wasnt alarmed by her peculiar form.
'I dont know...i dont even know where we are..' It was true, the names of places didnt really matter to him unless he wanted to remember certain towns for a specific reason. Tonight all he wanted was a warm bed, and in the fading light this village looked the same as any other.
Clora rubbed her arms, and Taron felt guilty with the blanket wrapped around him. It looked as if she did need it afterall; the horse hair didnt cover her arms. Having said that, he guessed a horse end was alot more useful than the puny lizard sun-slave that had decided to take control of Tarons life. Seriously, he'd only ever needed his +anima the day he obtained it, and since then it had only made things more complicated for him. Useless...
'Yeah...alone' He nodded 'and looking for a place to stay. I wouldnt be outside if i had a choice' He turned and scanned the streets. A bit pointless, his sight wasnt the best and it was already dark. He wanted to ask about the whole horse thing, but decided it was low priority right now.

((WHAT!? I MADE A MISTAKE?? NOO!!! I can be picky about grammar is well ^.^; I usually point out mistakes at school but then my friends get annoyed! I'm just like 'You spelt slowly wrong. You spelt it slowley.' Then I actually LEAN over and CROSS out the extra 'e' XD))
Clora's flank twitched slightly, her tail swished trying to smack away the pesky fly. In the end, Clora twisted her body uncomfortably and slapped her hand down on her hind leg, before twisting back. She looked at her hand and quickly wiped it on her fur.
"There're so many flies, here in Abon. I guess that field helps them grow... But it's almost winter..." Clora rubbed the back of her head, "There must be an inn somewhere! Come on, if we work together we'll find it faster!"
Clora swung off her shoulder-bag and rummaged through it. She mumbled to herself, saying what the items were, before pulling out a large leather item. Another uncomfortable twist round, followed by a few grunts.
"Tadaa!" Clora had strapped on a saddle...

((XD that alright, i make mistakes all the time, and i know how you feel, my mates make me proof read their writing sometimes cause i can be so picky about language XD))
Tadaa!
Taron turned to see what she meant, and finally realised what it was she had attached to her back. A saddle. Well this was awkward...she may be a horse, but riding on her back? He assumed that was what she intended him to do, but still, being carried by a girl...Wait, that was sexist, who cares if she was a girl, in a fair fight she'd probably come out on top, and he needed the help right now. That didnt make it any less awkward though..
'Um...' He moved to Clora's side. From this angle it didnt really look as if she'd be able to carry him; in terms of her horse end, she wasnt full grown (though not far off). Still, he wasnt that heavy, and she doubted she'd have offered unless she was totally confident. He scratched his head, wondering how to approach this...he didnt fancy jumping up onto her, so perhaps, if she would, he should ask her to lower herself slightly...
'What now?' It was easier to just to let himself be lead, rather than try to figure things out alone and then make a fool of himself.

Clora laughed slightly. It always makes people uncomfortable, the idea of riding on some freak. She grabbed hold of Taron's arm pulled him up. He was lighter than he looked. There was a slight pause.
"Put your feet in the stirrups..."
Another pause.
"Those metal dangly thingys."
She felt the weight on the saddle shift. "Okay, this will be easier than riding a horse because you don't have to kick me! All you have to do is look out for an inn..."
Clora's front legs rose off the ground slightly before breaking into a full-speed gallop. At least running could warm her up...

Taron put his feet in the stirrups and found his balance. It wasnt as hard as he'd expected, but still difficult. Taron had never ridden before, so this was an experience.
'Kick?' Is that what people did, kick the horses? That was cruel, he wouldnt kick even if he were just riding an ordinary horse.
She started moving. Fast. Taron fought to stay on her back, and haivng to concentrate like this helped keep him alert. That was good, he needed to be if he was going to be of any help to her. Finding the courage to look up and around again, he looked from building to building, in search of a sign or board, something that would signify a place to stay. Clora seemed to be doing the same, which was a little worrying, as she was moving so fast. He wouldnt be surprised if she ran into something...again. The first time had been partly his fault though...

After about five minutes of running, Clora slowed down into a canter, which was still reasonably fast. Maybe there wasn't an inn in this town? Clora's mind trailed off...
"Aahh!" Clora's front hoof slipped on a frosty area of the road, her other hoof scrabbled desperately for balance. There was a thud as Clora fell on her stomach (her horse stomach that is), her legs outstretched.
"No injuries I hope?" she said, almost laughing at her own imcompetence. "I'm sorry, I can be awfully clumsy! When I was in Astar I crashed into a market stall!"
She pushed herself back up, stumbled slightly, before setting off again, like the accident had never happened, only this time she trotted (but she still let her mind trail off...). This, my friend, is how Clora lives!

Taron nearly had a heart attack when Clora seemed to fall out from underneath him, and he clung to her human back like a terrified cat. As if just riding wasnt hard enough, now he had to get used to her tripping over every few metres. Clora didnt seem to notice though, neither her own fall nor his reaction, and just continued forward. He sighed inwardly. Luckily she was a nice person, and he shouldnt complain when she was so willingly giving him a lift.
'Are you really unhurt?' She sounded the sort of person to laugh even if she had seriously wounded herself, and Taron didnt have to balance to lean over and inspect whislt she was still moving. The air was colder now, combined with the wind attacking his face. Through the black he saw some more buildings, and one with a sign hanging.
'There!' He couldnt tell from this distance what it was, but the building seemed promising. It was certainly large enough. He held a finger up so Clora could see where he was refering to. There was a light flickering in the window, light could mean fire, which meant warmth.

Clora looked over to where Taron pointed. It looked like an inn... She galloped over, stopping almost immediately. Her hooves skid until she stopped. "Yaay! You can climb off now!"
Clora directed Taron on how to climb off a horse, before dismissing her anima (picking up her saddle) and running inside. She looked rather odd as a normal person. Her legs were incredibly skinny and her trousers could probably fit another person in them. Her arms had light grazes on them from falling over.
A man, probably the inn-keeper, saw them and almost cheered. "Ah! Guests! I'm sure you're both hungry, yes?"

Taron watched her shift again. That was probably the sort of thing he'd never really get used to seeing. He almost prefered her as a horse, she just appeared more...natural.It definitely suited her jumpy cheerful personality.
Stumbling through the entrance, he looked up to see an over enthusiastic innkeeper come to greet them, litterally pulling them both inside. Taron didnt complain, glad to be away from the cold night air outside. He smiled at the man, who smiled back even wider, and started rambling about things Taron wasnt really interested in. To be honest, he could have sinked to the floor and slept where he was, but at the mention of food his head jerked up.
'What price, for food and a bed?...' He glanced at Clora. 'Uh...thats for both of us...as in seperate rooms.' He blushed. Though it may be cheaper, he doubted she'd be into the idea of sharing a room with a complete stranger, a male stranger. She must have money atleast for herself, and he had enough for himself, so that was fine. As long as the price wasnt ridiculous, of course.
As he blushed, Taron felt a strange wet sensation on his face. Great. It always happened at the most awkward of times. Anoyed, he turned his back on the others and tried to wipe the blood off, hoping they wouldnt notice, or think much of it. It was pretty hard not to notice the deep red stains on his face.
'Sorry...'
((incase you didnt know, Taron randomly leaks blood from his eyes, a side effect of his +anima))

"Umm, yeah... Food would be great..." said Clora to the innkeeper, even though she looked at Taron's red face the whole time. The innkeeper ran into the other room, followed by the sounds of clattering pans. Clora smirked and grabbed her foot, hopping around the room. It was hard to see what she was doing, but it was a sight; A girl hopping around a boy with blood all over his face. Clora lost balance and fell on her back, though she still battled with her foot, only this time she resorted to biting. A sound of ripping fabric filled the room, shortly after a triumphant squeal. Clora bounced back up and held out a black fabric to Taron. The bottom of her trouser leg had been roughly torn off, showing her ankle and a tattoo-like marking that continued up her leg.
"Wipe the blood off your face!" Clora smiled, "You're like my brother! He used to hurt himself!" Clora's smile faded for a second, infact she frowned slightly. The smile was restored after the inn-keeper came in.
"Please, take a seat! Your food's ready now!" He handed Clora and Taron a bowl of steamed... Leaves by the looks of it.
