Entering Maggie Vil was like trying your first piece of candy to Tana. Normally, she kept to the smaller, more primitive villages where no one was a stranger...like the town she was born in. Tana paused at the front gates, gripping her bag tightly. In towns like these it was just common knowledge that pick-pockets would be lurking through the crowds. It is only fools who become victims of pick pockets.
Step by step, Tana entered the busy streets of Maggie Vil. It wasn't her most favorite thing, to be surrounded by people. It made her nervous more than anything. Being a +anima had its advantages and disadvantages. Being found out was one of them. Tana has heard of the nasty things normal people had to say about them. 'Monsters and demons straight from perdition'...'Mutants that should be culled'...A disease that is contaminating society as a whole' And that was just a few of what has been said. Of course not all of them were bad, and Tana's marking was located where no one would ever see it.
She shook her head in attempt to rid her mind of these thoughts and focus on why she came here in the first place. "Why did I come here anyway?" she asked herself. Though she usually could keep her focus on her goal, the city noises was overly distracting. Habitually, Tana raised her hand up to the ribbons in her hair but she remembered that the ribbons where not there. She had used them to help bandage the wounded leg of a young deer. "That's right," Tana muttered to herself, "I needed to get ribbons."
Tana kept walking, sometimes having to push her way through some older women who were conversing in the middle of the walkway. She inspected the signs of the shops as she passed, looking for a fabric shop. A good half hour passed and still no sign of a store that might sell ribbon fabric. Tana stopped and sat down on a pile of boxes. "It's useless," she thought, "This place is just too big."

((gawd your post is quite long, not sure i can match that. i'll give it a go))
Kona bounded down the streets. Ooh lots of people! This place was great, so many new friends to make, so many! Maybe they would give him hugs and treats and new clothes and maybe even a roof and all the other things he liked, maybe maybe! He got so dizzy in his excitement, Kona was forced to take a break and lie down on the pavement.
He was a dog again. It kept happening this time of year...perhaps because it was cold, and he needed the fur. He loved it, loved being four-legged with his very own muzzle and sleek golden coat. Just like the other wild dogs! Being in his human form was restricted, this was alot more fun. Although...he couldnt speak as a dog. That wasnt helpful, especially since humans cant speak dog or read even the most obvious body language. So anoying.
Getting up, Kona decided to go for a wander. he had to weave between so many legs, and one woman even kicked him! He'd yelped and ran off quickly, glaring at her from a distance. Hmm...who else could he play with?
Oh! A girl, by herself? He padded over, but stopped before he got too close. She might kick him too, humans were unpredictable. Kona would show her he was a good boy first. And so he sat a couple of metres away, tail wagging and head tilted, regarding her with interest.

Tana quickly grew tired of this loud, noisy city. All the commotion; the constant flow of townspeople. It was all just an avoidable nuisance to Tana, but she still had to find fabric to make her ribbons out of. If only she wasn't so nervous about showing her +anima form in front of people. Then she could easily find where everything is and quicker.
She turned to pick up her bag that she had set beside her when she noticed the golden dog who had approached her moments before. It's head was thingyed to the side, much like how the birds she trained tilted their heads when she told them a new command. She smiled and watched it as it wagged its tail. Tana had to admit, it was an adorable dog. She looked through the crowd for its owners. Had it ran away from home? Maybe it was dumped out onto the streets. No, it's too cute of a dog to do that.
She watched as people passed by, not even giving a slight glance at the dog. Maybe it was dumped and judging by this town, nobody would jump to their feet to take in a 'filthy stray'. "Are you hungry?" she asked. Tana knew that animals didn't understand what humans were saying but through bird training, she learned that animals felt more comfortable with you if you speak to them. Reaching into her bag, she felt around until she found the piece of fish she had saved in case she felt like having a snack.
Tana tore a chunk of it off and held it out in front of her. "Come here," she said while trying to coax the dog closer to her, "I'm not going to hurt you." She wasn't sure if dogs like fish but it was worth a try.

Are you hungry?
Was Kona hungry? Well...not particularly, but food was food, and a little extra would be gobbled up gratefully. He leaned back and raised a hind leg to have a nice scratch, right behind his ear. That felt good, and once the itch was quelled, Kona gave the girl his full atention once more.
Her hair was the colour of night-time. Actually..Kona found it hard to tell. Everytime he was a dog, the world liked to turn black and white, another minor anoyance, but most of the time it didnt do much to bother him. This girl's hair was dark, and the sky went dark at night...so...the colour of night it must be! Pleased with himself for making the analysis, Kona jumped to his feet, determined to give this one further investigation.
The girl brought out some meat. Hmm...no prey that Kona had ever hunted, but it looked like meat, and meat was good! He padded over happily and gave it a sniff. Even more confusing...it was so clean! No blood, not dark, and it smelt...odd. His tongue emerged for the first taste, then, unexpectedly, he gulped it down. Almost immediately, he changed his mind: Kona had been hungry afterall. But...oh dear, just one piece wouldnt fill him all the way up. Perhaps he could blag himself some more. Kona began licking her hand, tasting more of the strange new meat.

She smiled as the dog took the fish and began to lick her hand. "Poor thing must be starving," Tana said as she took the rest of the leftover fish out of her bag. She got down on her knees and reached out to pet the dog while offering it the rest of the fish with the other. Tana hesitated before she laid her hand on the dog's head. Though the dog seemed nice enough, she still had to be cautious around it.
"Do you have a home?" she asked the dog, knowing it could not reply back. Tana let her hand rest on the dog's head for a few seconds before lightly petting it. "I used to have a home, but becoming a...a +anima made it impossible for me to return," she said, pausing before whispering the word +anima. "It's nice to be able to talk to someone and not have them scared of you or hate you because of what you are."
"You are lucky. You, along with the other animals, don't have to worry about negative prejudice like we do," she said. "And you don't have to worry about becoming a slave in Sailand, well unless you were a horse or cow. But since you're a dog, you would probably have a nice, loving family there." It was strange. Tana hasn't had any close contact with another human in such a long time and, even though this dog can not understand a word she's saying, Tana sees it more than a dog. Almost like a human. Human enough to where she could carry on a conversation with it and not think that the passers-by would believe she is crazy.

Kona settled down on his forepaws and eagerly tore at the fish, savouring the new taste. Taste was important; Kona should remember it, and then maybe he could have it again sometime! Between nibbles he also took in what he could regarding its shape, size, colour and texture, all things that would help him recognise it in the future. Forming memories was somewhat difficult for Kona, he needed all the help he could gather.
This unbreakable attention was of course broken, though, when the girls hand moved to his head. Kona forgot the fish and growled faintly in ecstasy, tilting his head towards her arm. How he loved to be petted; it sent tingling sensations down his neck and back. Though it was hard, he managed to listen to her words at the same time.
...but becoming a...a +anima made it impossible for me to return
A +anima! Wait...that was familiar. Wasnt Kona one of those too? Well it was what people always called him, though often they used it as an insult. He couldnt imagine why. If this girl was a +anima, then +anima couldnt be bad, right? She spoke some more, something about cows and families. Kona shouldnt be expected to be able to listen properly whilst at the same time being petted!
When she quieted into a thoughtful pause, he jerked up to his feet and nuzzled her face. Lets play! Lets go play together, lets. I am a +anima too, really, i am! Kona yipped, turned, and ran, stopping across the street to check she was coming. He would show her, he would, but how? Changing back was really hard. Hmmm....

The dog seemed to really enjoy the fish and the petting. It reminded Tana of the birds when they were let out of their cages to stretch their wings. She wished she had more to give the dog; who knows when its last meal was? And she was sure that he would not enjoy eating the herbs she had found on her way here.
As soon as she was done talking, the dog hopped up without a moment's notice and nuzzled her before yipping at her like a energetic puppy. Before Tana could get to her feet, the dog was already bounding across the street and looking back to her as if it wanted her to follow it. She was a bit confused, not knowing whether to stay where she is so she would not get lost in this busy town or follow the dog. "Might as well," she thought.
At least this would give her something to do, even if it was just following a dog to who knows where. Tana weaved her way through the crowd, receiving yells and rude glances from various people as she pushed by them. After what seemed like an eternity, Tana finally got across the street and stopped by the dog's side. "Now I remember why I hate large towns like this," she muttered to herself. Tana looked back at the dog and waited, hoping it wouldn't lead her across another busy street.

Kona wagged his tail when the nice girl made it to his side. Okay...where to now? He started a trot along the pavement, trying to remember which way he'd come before. It was hard, and with the ever-shifting crowds the street was constantly changing. So confusing. Watching all the people was making Kona's eyes go funny, and he shook his head, beginning to panic.
Whining, he suddenly bolted for an alley. Too much noise. Whereas before Kona's focus had been solely on the girl, now every single part of his surroundings buffeted every sense, every part of his body. Why? Not long ago he'd enjoyed being amongst it all. Perhaps being a boy would be better now; his limits would block out all the sound atleast. Looking for comfort, Kona went to rub along the girls legs, and then quickly ran deeper into the alley. Maybe it would open out on the other side, revealing a much calmer quieter world for them both. That would be nice...
After a time spent taking long deep breaths and walking at an easy-going pace, he felt much better, and yipped at his new friend again. Lets find somewhere quiet, lets rest, and then play! Oh! Perhaps she would know a perfect place for them both. He pricked his ears up hopefully.
((bleah.....fail post. i had a bit of a block. sorry))

((It's okay, I'm having a bit of a block myself)) Tana followed a bit behind the dog as it scampered down the street. You would think that this late in the day, the streets would at least be dying down to only a trickle of people instead of a full on flood. It made her question why anyone would want to live here again. She looked back at the dog to make sure she hasn't lost him. It was acting odd...like it was scared.
The dog quickly darted off into an alley. Tana chased after him in fear of losing the dog. She wasn't quite sure why she felt the need to be with the dog. Maybe it was because, like herself, the dog didn't have anywhere to go...well she wasn't exactly sure it didn't have a home but she had a strong feeling. She wasn't sure what part of Maggie Vil they were in, but hopefully it wasn't far away from the exit. Tana just wanted out of this town. Hopefully the next town she visited would have what she needed.
The feeling of the dog rubbing up against her leg brought her focus back to the dog. Before Tana had the chance to pet the dog it darted once more, taking her deeper into the alley. The dog finally slowed down which was good for Tana since she was already out of breath from chasing after him. She was glad that the dog chose this alley to go down. It was much quieter though many of the noises from the adjacent streets still found their way into it. The almost-peaceful atmosphere was broken by the dogs barking again. "Geez, this dog just won't run out of energy," she thought to herself. "Here, lets go this way," she said as she began to step towards the alleyway opening. "This street doesn't seem as busy as the others." She turned to see if the dog was going to follow her. Tana hoped it would.

Phew, Kona didnt have to be the leader anymore. Surprisingly, that took alot of pressure off, and his cheeriness soon returned. Loping at her heels, he was the first to stick his nose out into the open, and turned his head to inspect where they had arrived.
She had been right; far less legs to get lost in down this street. He barked and bounded out into full view, spinning in circles. Some people passing by gave him funny looks, but Kona didnt care. Chasing his tail was too much fun! Then one little girl wandered over to him. Barely 3 summers old, he guessed. The tiny human chuckled and grabbed a handfull of his neckfur. Kona responded by knocking her over and giving her a facefull of spit! They rolled and giggled for a while before the cute little girl was tugged away by a woman (the mother?). If Kona could shrug, he would have, and casually padded back to the other girl, the one with night-hair.
They could do with food...and a warm place to sleep. Ooh maybe somewhere with a fireplace! This nice girl deserved a fireplace, Kona thought. Yawning a wide dog yawn, he shook himself and started out into the street again. There had to be a somebody round here that would lend them a fireplace for the evening. Humans had a special name for rooms you could buy, though it evaded him at that moment.
