Ren entered the town of Octopus. She hadn't been here before and it looked like a rather amazing town. Not by how it looked, but how it felt when coming in. The mud brick buildings and dusty roads didn't make it look pretty or awesome, but rather shabby. But when she entered the town, she looked around and felt as if there was somthing different here that you couldn't see, but she couldn't put her finger on it.
Shrugging it off, she walked over to the first stand she found and bought some bread. Once she payed, she began to eat it, and to her suprise, it tasted better than she would have expected.

Kona wandered along. This place was so big! How could one single place have so many streets, houses, everything, and the multitudes of sounds assaulted his ears form every direction. Why was he here again? He couldnt remember, not uncommon; Kona often just arrived in new places, he didnt really need a reason. But still, he didnt like it, there were too many people around, and they stared at him. Stared at the ears and tail.
He was in +anima, as always. He felt unbearably vulnerable without it, but coulnt understand why it always drew funny looks from people. What was so bad about having doggy ears. Kona personally felt that dog ears were cute; he always stopped to pet a stray dog should he come across one.
Speaking of which, the sound of barking suddenly came within hearing, and his head spun round, scanning the crowd. Sure enough, a big fluffy canine appeared out of nowhere and spotted Kona through the many people. Out of instinct, Kona let out a warning bark, not caring if anyone saw. That was just what you were supposed to do, bark your warning. But the big dog ignored him and bounded up, tackling him over. Soon the two were rolling about in the middle of the street, Kona barking along with the dog, and giggling like crazy, his tail wagging. Dogs could be so much fun!
((havent quite decided, but i think its some kind of sheepdog. Kona wouldnt know that though XD))

As Ren walked around town, looking for a job of some sort, she saw a boy playing around with a dog. It wasn't common down here, but she was used to that kind of thing as she grew up, so she shooed it off at first. But then she noticed the boy. He had...dog ear, and a tail!
It came as a small suprise. She wasn't expecting to find any +Anima here. But the fact that he was a +Anima didn't scare her one bit. She had friends who were +anima, too. Deciding that it wasn't going to hurt her if she just came by to say hi, she walked over to the boy and knelt down to him.
"Hi" she said to the boy.

Kona moaned outloud when the dog left him, and he just sat there in the middle of the street for a while, upset. Dogs could be fun, but they had short attention spans. Luckily, so did Kona, and he soon started looking around for other forms of entertainment.
Then he came face to face with a stranger merely a few inches from him, and he fell back in shock.
'uh...' She'd said 'hi' so he should respond...but why had she said hi? Why wasnt she put off by the ears and tail. That was strange...maybe this girl was different. and maybe they could play together! His tail wagged faster, and he got up off the ground.
'I mean...Hi!'

Ren chuckled slightly to herself as the boy wagged his tail. He seemed to be really into his +anima, unlike most. Most just used their +animas to protect themselves, or to help themselves steal. But this boy, he seemed to really like his anima, or somthing.
"Hi, I'm Ren" she said, introducing herself. "What's your name?" she asked, getting up as he stood up.

'Ren!' That was strange...it was almost too simple for a girl, but it was nice and easy to remember. He repeated it over and over. 'Ren, Ren..' Okay, he wouldnt forget now.
'Hello Ren! Kona is my name' He spoke with an upbeat tone, so happy to be able to talk to someone who didnt hate him. No-one had talked to him in ages, despite the fact that he loved to socialise. They all just turned away and hurried along, leaving Kona wondering what he'd done wrong. Maybe he looked funny, or he looked like the sort of person you were supposed to ignore and hate.....was that even possible? How..or who would judge something like that? Anything could be pretty, but it could also be ugly. Kona knew that not everyone were dog lovers, for example.
'Ren, do you know why everyone looks at me strangely?'

"Oh" Ren said softly, suprised at Kona's question. It was rather simple really; people were afraid of +animas because they had power. No, that wasn't quiet it. It was because +animas were different, and humans had a tendancy to fear things that are different.
"Um..." she said, thinking how she could put it for Kona. Over her journeys, she had heard many things, and she wasn't a girl to go with the crowd, and didn't want to judge things right away, so she had given +animas a chance and found out that what other people said wasn't true. They weren't scary or even dangerous!
"Well, I think it's because of your tail and ears...it just is...odd for some people" she said to Kona. She looked at the bread in her hand. "Want some?" she asked, offering the last of her bread to the boy.

Kona's eyes lit up, him almost completely forgetting her last answer in favour of the food offer being more important.
'Yes please!' Wow! No one gave him free food unless he begged. People liked it when he begged...was that the ears too? Still, if he could get for food it, it was ok. But Ren...she was so nice, she'd given him food without having him beg! He jumped on the spot and took the food, nibbling it. 'Thankyou!'
After a few mouthfuls, he remembered her last reply. 'So it's my ears and tail...' Just a statement, but Kona couldnt live without his +anima. He felt so blind, so deaf , almost drunk without it. Human senses werent good enough. It was so much easier to just walked around in +anima all the time and be able to see and hear everything. Humans were too limited. Kona would be too vulnerable just as a human.

Ren smiled as she watched Kona eating the bread she had offered him. But after a few bites, he made a small statement. It was his tail and ears, but if this kid wasn't careful, he would get into so much trouble, espically if he went over to Sailand.
"Yeah, but..." she began, extending her arms and ruffling his hair and dog ears. "I think it's cute." And she wasn't lying. She thought the ears and tail was cute, but it was a common thing for her to gawk over a +anima's anima. She didn't like, nor hate +animas. Sterotyping was a horrible thing to do.

Kona bent his head towards her and yipped in pleasure as she ruffled his hair and ears, hitting his weak spot right there. His ears twitched as his tail wagged harder as he stood there with a big smile on his face.
'Cute?' Hmm..No-one had ever called him 'cute' before. Kona thought that Cute was a word you used to describe little animals, or young innocent children, he didnt think of himself as 'cute', but it was a nice thought, and he took it as a compliment. How could he complain when he felt so good. Ren was really nice, and she was cute also, he thought. All girls were, but her especially.
'You're cute too!'

Ren smiled when Kona began to wag his tail, finding it odd at first, but then getting used to it, remembering his anima. Bringing her hand back to her side, and she giggled at Kona's statement. She was glad she didn't sterotype +animas, because ,somehow, it always ended up good for her.
"Well thank you" she said, looking down at the boy. "Um...so..." she began, not knowing what to say. "I need to go get a job...wanna come with?" she asked the boy.

Kona blinked. 'Job?'
Kona knew what she meant, but wasnt sure why she needed one. Why did people do jobs anyway? Was it because they were nice...well that couldnt be it, people who sell stuff never gave anything to Kona. Strange, they gave stuff to other people at the stalls, but never to him. Was he supposed to be nice back, or give something nice in return? The whole system was confusing.
'Why do you need a job?' Ren was already nice, and could be nice without the need for a job.

"Well, I'm running out of money" Ren said, giving her walk a small skip. "And I still need a place to sleep, some food and maybe some other items," she explained. Did he think she had enough money because she willingly gave up her bread to him.
"Havn't you had a job before?" she asked the boy.

'um..Of course!' He replied quickly...though he still didnt really know what a job was. In the end his shoulders fell and he changed his answer. 'no...' Kona was terrible at lying, and just hated feeling guilty. Ren didnt deserve lies.
Kona could sleep anywhere, though he prefered warmer places, but he'd never seen other people sleep outside like he did every night. Maybe it was a +anima thing. Ren must not be a +anima then, if she needed money to sleep. That was an odd thought...having to pay to sleep.
'What are jobs for?' She'd mentioned money, but was it really worth it?

Ren sighed. Maybe because of his +anima, he didn't know common knowlage? Did he know how the money system worked? Oh well, if he did, he could just stop her in her rants when explaining what jobs were for.
"Well" she began, looking down towards Kona "jobs earn you money and money gives you the power to buy things. The whole money system makes it so that we do not have to trade for things, making it easier for travelers like myself. Money can buy you food, shelter and other items of intrest" she said, pausing. "Do you understand? Any questions?"
