Nylah paced up and down the cage like a tiger. She doesn't know exactly where she was, but she does know she's been in this cage for a very long time.
Nylah listened to people gasping and muttering things like 'Demon Child!' and 'Monster'. Something poked her, something like a stick. She quickly turned around and clasped her jaws around it. It wasn't a stick. It was warm. A whipped cracked somewhere, making Nylah yelp and sit in the corner.
When hyena's get excited or fearful, they make a laughing noise. This , unfortunately for Nylah, was true. Sitting in the corner and making a laughing noise. The audience laughed is well. Laughing at her pain.
"S-Stop!" she growled, but this only made then laugh harder. People screamed as Nylah swung herself against the cage, snapping and waving her clawed hands. Another whip crack. Another yelp. The child sat in the middle of the cage, snarling, feeling the warm liquid go down her face.
Nylah thought how happy she used to be. She tried to remember her family, though the task was almost impossible.
"S-So many m-memories..." she whimpered in a hoarse, animal-like voice, "So many..." If it weren't for memories, Nylah would of lost her human-heart years ago. She bared her teeth at the people she could never see, who still laughed.

OOC: Accepted! Meet Inalba- i'll write in third, like you- unless I go into his POV, I'll alert you to that.
IC: The jeers and yells blasted farther than the attendees to the "devil's child" attraction knew. The went all the way to a small huddled figure sitting high, high up on a small platform situated around the main stake supporting the tent. He cringed as waves of laughter pealed. Finally he steeled himself and peered over the edge. The cage was almost directly beneath him. A small figure shook and cowered in it. The boy's eye's narrowed- employing his bird-like sight sharpness to zero in on her- for it was indeed a girl. But not just a 'girl', a +anima- a hyena by the looks of it. The boy, Inalba was his name, had followed the circus for almost two months now and had seen many +anima attractions featured- always masqueraded as something much different from the actual case. This one was exceptional- from what he saw, she wasn't acting. she was genuinely afraid. The girl gave the eldritch hyena cry as the ringmaster's whip cracked by her shoulder and she shied away, presseing herself farther away. The Ringmaster announced his speech about the rare "devil's child" and how vicious it was. Inalba felt his heart ache- it was not right. He had to help her

((Okie dokie!))
Nylah's clawed hand ran up and down the bars of the cage. It was rather rigid and bumpy where she gnawed at them. That odd sound kept escaping from her lips. He he he. There was a wet thunk. It startled her at first, until she realised it was her food. She didn't eat it, didn't even bother touching it. At first they gave her fruits and cooked meat, but as soon as her Anima started to take control, it had been raw meat.
A sudden urge of anger filled Nylah. She was no longer laughing, but barking.
"Raw meat!? Raw meat!?" she yelled "C-c-can't have r-raw meat!" The ringmaster started going on about something, to cover up the fact she won't eat. Her powerful jaws had clamped round one of the bars, her claws scraping quickly. She could of had tears of fury in her eyes, however she didn't, because hyena's don't cry. Hyena's don't cry.

OOC: meh?? is this AFTER the show thing?
IC: Inalba continued to watch- why her? She didn't do anything to anybody- yet they treated her like a beast. They threw her raw meat- but she refused to eat it. For that she received a beating, but she still did not eat. It was admirable.
Inalba silently pondered wether or not she knew that someone was on her side. And he was going to do something about it.
He waited until the show had ended and the people filed out, even the ringmaster and workers. He rummaged through a small bag on a belt and carefully removed a handful of dried fruit and even found a small piece of sun-dried meat. With a rustle of black wings, the boy leapt from the platform and spread his wings wide like a parachute and glided down- silent as the night. He dropped right next to the girls enclosure. She immediately perked, her head swung around violently- searching for the source of the voice. Inalba noticed one particularly foggy whitish-blue eye that remained stagnant. She was blind. "Hey." Inalba whispered, "I have something for you."

Nylah shuffled over to the boy. He held out the dried fruit. Although she hadn't eaten for a while, she still had the manners to eat politely; gently picking up the fruits one-by-one.
To the boys surprise, after she had her little meal, her clawed hand reached right out the cage. Her eyes stared into nothing as she lightly touched his face, as if she was remembering it.
"N-N-Nice t-o m-meet yo-u." she said softly, no longer in a growly tone. "I-I-I Nylah..."

Inalba was somewhat surprised, he took half a step back and clasped Nylah's hand. The girl continued to stare forward as though she had not seen him. only one of her eyes followed him partially.. She did not speak- it was apparent she had a hard time talking. He had so many questions to ask her. But that would have to wait-- he heard the next show beginning to come in. Nylah jerked her hand away and began to panic, Inalba noticed the welts and bruises across her face and the stark terror resounding throughout her expression. She whimpered and whispered, "H-h-help." A lump rose in the boy's throat. He made a quick discussion. He wrapped his hands (which were abnormally large for a child his size) around the cage bars and whispered fiercely, "This is wrong! I'm goin' to help you get out. " and with a small swoosh spread his wings, "i'll 'e 'ack." he jumped and took off straight up to the platform to wait, even though he had no idea what he could do. (ooc: just in case you didn't read his description a quick not for u- Inalba can't pronounce his 'b's', except for the one in his name ^^; )

The positive human contact started to work it's way into Nylah's animal brain. She had no idea were the boy went, or where all the people were, but she didn't feel like attacking them. Only an animal would do that. A faint flapping sound could be heard from above, causing Nylah to hit the ground and put her hands on her head for protection. A whip crack.
"Ow!" yelled Nylah, slightly surprised by this sound. It wasn't laughing, it wasn't yelping. She slowly stood back up. People were gasping and such in amazement. The girl just stood there, confused.
"This... Beast... Is so dangerous it could kill you in a flash!" exclaimed the Ringmaster, causing even more gasping.
"W-What?" Nylah looked up to the ceiling of the tent, even though the Ringmaster wasn't there "Why w-w-would do tha'?"
A few people left the tent, already seeing that it's just a girl. The Ringmaster panicked and cracked his whip, hoping the 'Devil Child' would be back to the crazed creature.
"Arrrgghh!!!" Nylah screamed and fell to the ground, her +Anima disappearing as she done it. Everyone looked at the girl, not moving. Still as a statue. Inalba could feel the guilt filling him. He had not been able to save her, she had died in her misery. Luckily for Nylah, she had learnt a trick called 'Play Dead'...

Inalba's heart stopped and then pounded. once, twice. The third confirmed the horror as the the girl twitched and became still. Everything froze about Inalba as the watched the girl, and heard her scream again and again. The panicked Ringmaster ushered out the viewers promising full refunds and some of the actors and security wandered over to the enclosure. Through his horror, Inalba hardly heard their mutterings, but then the word 'river' began to reoccur, and he realized what they planned to do with the body. Thats what they always did to the one's who died- that's why they always tried to be near a body of water.
A sheet was brought forward. The body was wrapped up inside of it. A 'strongman' hoisted it and began to trudge in the general direction of the nearest water source. Inalba followed.

((Sorry I took a while!))
The strongman looked into the river. The water was dark and murky. Dark and murky for a dark and murky little girl. Perfect. He swung the bundle of cloth. Once. Twice. The third time was interrupted by the sound of ripping cloth.
Nylah wriggled manically inside her cloth prison until the rip had become big enough for her to struggle through. She landed with a thud on the soft grass, only to be met by the strongman's mallet (which he often used for shows).
Nylah lay on the ground whimpering, knowing that playing dead won't help her this time. The sounds of feet crunching on grass echoed inside her ears. They were light and soft like a childs. Nylah dismissed her +Anima once again and quivered. Droplets of water had filled her eyes and oh, how it stung! She felt herself being lifted and being swung. Once. Twice...

OOC: S'all right. I took longer ^^;;
IC: Inalba dropped and silently glided after the massive man out of the tent. He dawdled a bit, first shooting up in to the sky trying to hide the promise of tears from anything around him, the when a tear trickled down his cheek, he abruptly stopped and pulled in his wings, dropping like a dead-weight. Tearing the tear from his face. Just before hitting the ground he spread his wings and touched down gently. He hid his anima and silently trudged in the direction of the man. He heard a scream and shout. It sounded like a girl. He immediately picked up speed. He slid to a stop. A torn canvas bag lay in tatters on the ground and the half-concise form of a girl spun like a rag doll through the air and into the river with a splash.

Nylah splashed and spluttered in the water. She kicked her legs violently to stay on the surface. There was no way she could get over to the river bank, mainly because she couldn't see it, but also because the weeds kept pulling her down, into the depths.
She resurfaced again, coughing loudly. Water splashed all around her so she couldn't hear anything. Something pushed he down, it was probably the strongman. Nylah kicked her legs to resurface again, however something was stopping her. It felt like a hand pushing her back down. She took a gasp for much needed air, instead dirty water filled her mouth and into her lungs.

(ehhh- field hockey is eating my life! I'm terribly sorry for the wait!!!)
Inalba's better judgement was immediately lost to him in a wave of anger. With a fearsome cry he broke into a sprint and dove into the river, past a very startled circus worker. A scream erupted from the strongman's lips as talon-like fingers tore through the skin on his upper arm as Inalba whipped by. He fell backwards first, then ran. the boy's eyes opened and took a moment to adjust to the water, which was made murky by the girl's struggles. A shadowy form struggled in the depths, Inalba picked it out instantly. Diving deeper, he seized an arm and with a tremendous kick- burst free from the water whilst spreading his wings...

((Bwhahahahaaa! Don't worry ^.^; I'm patient when I want to be))
Nylah felt something grab her arm and pull her out of the water. She took a gasp for some much-needed air, coughing some of the dirty water back out. Something didn't feel right though. All she could hear was flapping wings and air rushing past her. "Angel... Angel... Angel..." she muttered, hoping that her feet would touch the grass soon. "I can't feel the ground..."
She reached her hand up. Some warm and soft. A person. Once she located the angel's face, she smiled slightly. "You're a angel?"
