"I think it's just over that hill..." said Clora, a slight hint of uncertainty in her voice. The hill she referred to was steep. Very steep. She had to slow right down into a walk to climb it, holding the pup who was exhausted. Going up the hill was quite easy to be honest, just a few small jumps when she was near the top.
"Wow! This is so high!" Clora reared up slightly, trying to see more, but as soon as she remembered poor little Taron she went back down again. "Sorry... Now then, how do I go down?"
Clora had a long think, she could jump down. She could go down carefully. She could trot, canter or gallop down. Or, she could choose a secret option. "Okay, I'm gonna pull off the belt. Try not to break your neck-- or hit that rock-- if you fall off."

'Thats....alright' Taron replied grimly, unbelievably dizzy. He hoped this would either get alot easier, or he just wouldnt ever have to ride on Clora's back...ever again. She was lovely, but just too clumsy. Maybe if she were a horse, he could attempt to tame her, but in this situation, Clora was the boss, and she could do whatever she liked. He groaned.
'What?' She was going to take off the belt? But Taron would surely fall, he was having trouble holding on with the belt. Those rocks would butcher him if she advanced without him being secured properly. 'I dont think thats a good idea....' Couldnt he just get off and walk it? He was tired, but would rather go about it slowly than risk a rough tumble.

"I wanna roll down the hill!" said Clora, trying to look at Taron behind her. She unfastened the belt and waited for Taron to slide off, before dismissing her Anima and putting down the wolf.
"Can you hold these a second..." Clora handed him the two swords and jogged to the edge of the hill. "Three... Two... One... GO!" Clora began doing forward rolls down the hill, speeding down in one circle. The pup ran eagerly after her, attempting to nip her heels. Clora reached the bottom quickly, looking rather dizzy.

Uh...swords? Taron took them hesitantly, freaked out. He didnt like any weapons, to be honest, and being this close to something that was made for evil was just...wierd. he tried to ignore it, and watched Clora instead.
God, maybe she'd been dropped on her head as a baby, and had never really matured properly. I mean, rolling down a hill? he shook his head and sat down for a moment. The pup was enjoying it too, but he was just a pup, he had an excuse. Taron wondered how old Clora really was....maybe she just looked older. Trying to figure her out was difficult.
'Having fun?' he called, a hint of mockery in his tone. How much fun could she really have just rolling down a hill anyway.

"Yes!" said Clora, smiling hard. She didn't seem to sense the mockery, she just saw it as a question. "Why don't you do it? It's fun!"
Clora clapped her hands and picked up the pup, still smiling. "Either roll down or go down the hill the boring way!" Yes, walking down a hill may be quite challenging, but it is boring in her view. Why do it the boring way when you can do it the funnier, and usually faster, way. Nevermind the more dangerous way. Clora then remembered the swords, "Actually... Don't roll down the hill, if the sword goes through you I wouldn't want to feel responsible for it..." Clora had stopped smiling now, scratching the back of her head. To be honest, Taron didn't seem like the sort if a person told him to roll down a hill.

'No...i dont think i will' I value my current well-being. Instead Taron carefully held the swords and slowly made his way down the steep slope, slipping every now and again. That was embarassing, but then again, Clora shouldnt laugh; she'd been the one tripping about everywhere with him AND the swords on her back.
It took a while. He was beginning to wonder if rolling down would be the better option. But then...he couldnt leave the swords, or roll with them, or throw them, so this was the safest way to keep her items safe and harmless.

Clora sat down and waited paitently for Taron to 'walk' down the hill. "Throw the swords!" she shouted, not in a nasty way, just in a 'I-know-it-is-a-completely-brilliant-idea-way'. Taron just continued walking down the hill normally, slipping slightly. Maybe he didn't hear her?
Clora pulled herself up and brushed the water droplets off her trousers. The grass was still wet with the morning dew. Her feet were wet and cold. She looked down. "Oospies!" A strong gust of wind blew Clora over. It was certainly odd, seeing a possibly anorexic teenager fall backwards thanks to some wind that only made the trees sway. Clora seemed to find this highly amusing, laughing as she took her swords from Taron. The pup let out a high pitched bark.
"Okay, pup. Your family shouldn't be far...OOOOOOOO---OOOOOOO!!!" Clora cupped her hands around her mouth and began howling. The pup joined in. Other wolves howled in the distance. "...That way." Clora motioned Taron towards the howls.

Taron made a sort of what-the-hell face, a little freaked out. Clora was howling now....of course. she'd be bending over and running on all fours next.....actually...she did that anyway. He shrugged.
'Whatever you say' He was somewhat glad that she was taking control. He hated being in charge. But...how reliable could her little howling test be? Well it was the best lead they had. And they could search all day (though he prefered not to). There was really no rush, but Taron didnt want to suffer prolonged exposure to Clora and her strange behaviour..he could pick up bad habits.
'Exactly how are you so sure?' he asked, though not in a nasty way. he was just generally curious.

Clora smiled at Taron. "You know why wolves howl? It's so they can locate each other. If you howl, they have to howl back, it's instinct. They don't know who I am though, so now they'll be more alert..." Clora's voice trailed off, leaving eye-contact for a while. "Anyway, I'm just following the howls."
A small forest-like area could be seen not too far away. It seemed like a good place for wolves to live. Thump thumpthumpthump thump was the only things that could be heard for a while. Clora's strange hoof-placing patterns. She could walk like a normal horse, but the rythmn was hard to grasp. Surprise, it was Clora who first broke the silence. "What season were you born in?"

Hmm...so the howls were meant to locate wolves. Taron hadnt know that, and it was actually quite a smart thing to do. Suddenly Clora's behaviour wasnt so strange afterall; there was some thinking behind it.
'What season were you born in?'
Taron remained silent for a while. It was an odd question, but harmless, and he would have answered, except...'I dont know. i dont know when my real birthday is' he told her dismissively. To him it was no big deal. He lived alone, so birthdays didnt mean alot; he had no-one to celebrate it with. As long as he counted the summers, he knew how old he was.

Clora nodded, and avoided tripping on a rock. "How do you know how old you are then?" she asked inquisitively ((sp? big words!)). Clora wasn't certain on the exact day she was born... But she was sure after winter she adds on a year. She pursed her lips as she thought harder and harder. What on earth's sixteen take away two!? Maybe she should have two birthdays, since her body was older than her spirit and mind?
Clora soon began thinking of wolf pups in blankets, before turning back to Taron. "How old are you? It's hard to tell..." Clora scratched the back of her head.

Taron shrugged. '15, i think, though summer is ending, i may already be 16' Despite not caring about a proper birthday, Taron did find it important that he atleast remember his own age. It could be useful in certain situations, and it would be embarassing if he couldnt answer when people like Clora asked.
'I count the summers, its much easier than trying to remember a particular day in the year' That was really quite difficult when he didnt have a calender or went for days away from people.
'What about you?' he felt he should ask, if just to be polite. Then another thought occured to him. 'Why does it matter what season i was born in, anyway?'
((XD big words))

((Oh yes, we all love the big words.))
Clora shrugged. "I don't know. I just felt like talking. It's not nice when it's that quiet!" Clora pouted slightly. "Oh! I gotta answer now!! I like getting to know people! It makes me feel happy! And also it makes them feel happier because then I can say 'Autumn's past right? That means it's been your birthday!' Yes, yes... Then I can give them a present that makes them even happier!"
Clora and the pup bounced slightly, until she nearly tripped again. "I think I was born in winter... I remember 'cause it was really cold... And there was snow outside." Clora scooped up the pup. "And whatta 'bout you lil' nasty? When were you born, ya little runt? Taron! Taron! We're near the forest! This is exciting because we get to see wolves and that!! Make sure you don't get attacked, wolves can chase their prey for hours!" Clora added cheerily.

'Gee, such fun!!' he replied sarcastically. Man, Clora could really talk! It was almost scary listening to her going on and on, and watching her trip several times. She was really lost in her own world, away with the faeries, but in a way that she was still concentrating (somewhat) on everything going on around her. The things she was saying were odd also...presents and being happy and stuff. Gifts only made you happy if it was a good gift, like something you actually needed. In a way Taron was glad he didnt recieve birthday gifts; he couldnt carry alot around with him. 'Presents arent essential for happiness' he stated, shrugging. 'And i cant run...well i can...but not well' he said, giving her the heads up incase anything happened. Maybe she'd give him another lift if they got into trouble..but to be honest, he probably wouldnt feel any safer riding on her back, when she was so clumsy.
((XD totally))

Clora nodded and spoke slowly, as if all that talking earlier was just a way to get everyone said and done. "The only thing essential for happiness is other people's happiness, that way you learn happiness."
At least she had calmed down now. Clora also seemed like a different person. "It's better if you can't run. Wolves only attack things that run, unless they're half starved. Even if you could run, deers still get killed right? Those buggers are fast."
The forest trees swayed freely in the wind, though only the branches hit together since the leaves had showered the floor. The pup wiggled out of Clora's hands and fell on the floor with a thump, before dashing into the darkness, not even looking back at Taron or Clora. Autumn flies buzzed happily in the air, only to get flicked away wish Clora's tail. "Aigh! Can we go back, the flies are biting me?"
