Ruko was about to reply to Taron's first statement, when he made a remark that shattered everything. Thofte was... gone? Taking a frantic look around them, panic showed on Ruko's paling face. Thofte had never run off before! He couldn't be by himself! Because of his... mentality, it was never good for him to be off on his own. He thought stealing was just a game, for goodness sakes.
Sniffing the air, and catching his scent, Ruko grabbed Taron's hand, pulling him behind her as she ran in the direction of the scent, which was mixed in with the scents of other children. Of course. She should've know. "Come one, we gotta get him!"
Thofte chased around with the children, playing shadow tag. Someone was 'it', and they tried to step on the shadows of other children. If your shadow was stepped on, you became 'it'. It was wonderfully simplistic, and Thofte was having a blast. He nimbly sidestepped yet another 'it', when he caught sight of two figures running in their direction, one being pulled by the other. "Ruko? Rok?" he called out, unsure if it was them.

'wah!' Taron almost tripped as Claw hastily pulled him along. Obviously a missing Bane was not good. He could understand; he wouldnt personally ever leave Bane alone, and now he cursed himself for having not noticed sooner that the boy had gone. Taron pulled away from Claw's hand and ran behind her.
'How do you know this is the right way??' He couldnt hear or see any sign of the boy, and hadnt realised that maybe her sense of smell could be of some help in this situation. All he could see were various crowds of people. Bane could be just a few yards away and Taron probably wouldnt see. His eyes were getting all messed having to scan the streets like this, and eventually he began slowing down. Claw would probably object, but Taron was useless when he was flustered.
'Ruko, Rok?'
Taron spun round, wondering if he was hearing things.

Ruko's eyes widened as she caught sight of Thofte. She didn't know of Taron was behind her anymore, but she didn't care. Thank God that Thofte was safe. Sprinting faster toward him, and weaving through the crowd, Ruko came to a stop before him, who had his eyes wide, surprised, but not worried. Kneeling down, she enveloped him in a tight hug. "Thank God..." She struggled to hold her tears of relief back, and mostly suceeded. A single tear trickled down her cheek.
Thofte was surprised at Ruko's reaction, but understood. He shouldn't have wandered off like that. That was bad, and he shouldn't do it. "Ruko, law Ruko." Ruko, I'm sorry. He hugged her back, though darted his eyes around, searching for Rok.

Taron concluded that he'd heard nothing, and turned back to where Claw was standing...only she wasnt standing there anymore. Great...now he'd managed to loose both of them. His earlier idea of splitting up didnt seem so attractive anymore...they'd have probably never found each other again.
Moving forward, he half-heartedly looked around. To be honest, Taron hadnt lost anyone, it was he who'd been left behind. He guessed that meant he wasnt important enough to remember...and of course he came second to Bane...silly Bane who couldnt do that one simple task of staying together. His mood turning bitter, he kicked a rock and pressed on through the crowd.
Finally he caught sight of Claw, with a rather surprised looking Bane in her arms. They hadnt seen him yet, both probably too interested in each other. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, Taron stood still in the middle of the street, eyes averted as the siblings shared a hug.

Letting Thofte out of her hug, Ruko smiled, standing up. She turned to Taron, expecting him to be right next to her, but found that he wasn't there. "Taron?" Frowning, and slightly worried, Ruko scanned the quickly moving street, but caught no sign of the boy. Where could he be? Her frown deepened. Dang it! She should've made sure she didn't leave him behind!
Thofte heard Ruko's word. Taron. That's what she called Rok. That was right, he wasn't there. That wasn't good. Ruko was worried, and that was never good. He looked, too, searching for the cracks in the crowd. He caught sight of Rok, who was looking the other direction. "Rok!" He announced, pointing.
Ruko whirled in the direction of Thofte's finger, her eyes widening as she picked him out of the crowd. Without Thofte's help, she probably would've never pinpointed him. Worming her way through the crowd, and double-checking to make sure Thofte was behind her, she made her way to Taron. Grabbing his hand, she smiled in relief. "Taron! Thank goodness! I was worried I accidently left you behind!" Once someone was part of her 'pack', she'd always look after them. So far, Taron was only the second person ever inducted into their 'pack', and, no matter how much he could bug her, Ruko wouldn't ever leave him behind.

Taron didnt look back to them until he felt someone grab his wrist, making him jump, until of course he realised who it was. How could he not have heard them approach? What was more surprising was how Claw was behaving towards him. She appeared to have been genuinly worried, and he almost considered just playing along incase she wasnt being sincere, but it was obvious she was. He felt his bad feelings lift, and smiled.
'Its okay, you cant loose me that easily' he said, suddenly wondering why he hadnt bothered to look more thoroughly just a few minutes ago. Forget bitter feelings, was he really that eager to loose these new friends? How stupid of him. It was that kind of shallow behaviour that would take Claw and Bane away from him in the long-run. 'It was my fault, i'm so slow' In my mind as well as my feet.

Still gripping tightly to Taron's hand, as if she was afraid he would disappear or something, Ruko shook her head, her smile fading into a more serious look, though traces of it still lingered. "'A pack is only as fast as its slowest member.'" She quoted. "You're part of the group, and we're not gonna lose ya, got it?" Her smile returned slightly.
Thofte bounced from foot to foot, before blurting out his apology. "Rok, Ruko, lawy..." He shuffled his feet, looking down, slightly ashamed. He KNEW Ruko wouldn't like it, though he didn't think they would lose Rok in the process. Why had he done something so stupid?

((XD finally someone who likes it! i made it myself (well obviously not the actual art), but everyone else seems to find it creepy, lol, its my favourite bit in the film tho XD. and you seem to be really obsessed with inuyasha XD))
'Got it' he said, unable to stop a grin spreading across his face. Claw could be really strict sometimes, but he could see now she was capable of a little kindess once in a while, and that was all he really asked for. He also felt good when she refered to him as 'part of the group', and he decided he better start being a more responsible group member. 'I'll try not to be the slowest member'.
Bane spoke up, and Taron looked at him, still not quite sure how to understand the boy's language. He could tell, though, from the look of guilt, that Bane regretted running off. That was good, atleast; hopefully he wouldnt do it again anytime soon. Taron had to resist the urge to ruffle the boys hair again; remembering he hadnt been the most popular person after doing it last time.

(I <3 Inuyasha! But, I've never seen any of the movies before. I'm only in like the third season... T_T But, at first, I actually thought that was one of the wolves from Princess Monoke...)
Ruko nodded, her smile completely disappearing for a more serious, but yet not threatening look. "Good." She still gripped Taron's hand tightly, both because she didn't want to accidently lose him again and because she remembered from earlier that it embarrassed him. Out of the corner of her eye, she looked at Thofte, her eyes softening as she nodded slightly at him, before they became harder, looking back at Taron. "So, anyway, what else do you need?" She waited for his reaction, both to the question, and to her hand-holding.
Thofte smiled, noting Ruko's nod. Good. He was forgiven, and, judging by the look on Rok's face, that he was forgiven by him, too. Good.

((XD, oh course, it IS princess mononoke, Its the mum wolf, i've never seen any inuyasha film XD, i never said it was from inuyasha! hhaahaha))
Taron moved back slightly, hoping she'd atleast let go of his hand. She didnt...He bit his lip, irritated, but decided to continue as if having forgotten about it. She didnt seem to care, infact if she was desperate to cling, then he didnt really have a major problem.
'Uh....I think. i think thats about it, or maybe with the rest of the moeny we could pick up some more food?' It seemed wise, and it would mean he wouldnt have to go back into town anytime soon. Still, there was the issue of having to carry it, and Taron normally only carried all that would fit in his pouch or pockets. 'Do you wanna sleep here? w-well you know not here here, but...inside?' The whole hand-holding thing was making him trip over his words. That was anoying...

(XD Now I feel stupid and smart at the exact same time! : P)
Ruko surpressed a smile, inwardly pleased at having made Taron trip up like that. She didn't have anything in particular against the boy, but, seeing as she still didn't know him super well, and he slightly bugged her by his actions, it was fun seeing him squirm. Especially since all she was doing was holding his hand, which she had no qualms against. She wasn't letting go anytime soon, that's for sure.
"Well, we probably shouldn't get too much food. Maybe just some meat, considering what me and Bane got yesterday. Besides, there's always hunting." She partially transformed, revealing teeth sharpened completely to a point. "And we can stay indoors. It's been awhile." It would be nice, having a roof over her head.
(surpressed... I like that word! XD I used it in both of my newest posts...)

Taron nodded, thinking the same. It was getting colder and colder each day, and soon he'd have to find some town to stay for the winter. He couldnt travel in the cold, and would need to find a job in order to pay for sleeping inside. He wasnt keen on staying in sailand, but it was too late to make the trip across the border now.
'Lets find an inn' Between them they had more than enough money for one night atleast, but while they still could, some more food would be ideal. 'Meat sounds great...um....how should we go about getting it?' Though Claw had suggested it, he wouldnt want to make her hunt if she didnt mind spending a little extra to buy the meat instead. Also...it was all well and good killing something, but then there was having to prepare it to make it edible. Maybe Claw, being the +anima she was, could take it straight off the carcass, but Taron had never risked it, and would prefer just buying a ready-made meal and accepting the price. It was also getting dark...which limited their options.
((XD surpressed is a good word. i've also noticed you like using 'qualms' lol))

(XD I actually hadn't noticed on that one. I guess you're right. lol)
Ruko deactivated her +Anima, finally releasing Taron's hand, as she liked having both free. "If you want cooked meat, unless you can cook, screw hunting. I can't cook to save my life. We'd be better off buying it. Fresh meat, you give me a half hour, and I can get us a deer or something. Dry, we swipe it." She shrugged. "I'll eat anything. I don't really care. It's up to you." Something warm would be nice, though. Not like she was gonna say that. She wasn't some weak human who had to buy something warm to keep them moving. Then again... Taron would probably need it, because of his +Anima. That wasn't weak. That was just plain survival. Big difference.
Thofte danced from foot to foot, impatient. He was HUNGRY. His stomach showed that, too, letting out a rather loud growl. He grinned sheepishly. "Ruko, thof eh lawy." Translation: Ruko, I'm hungry.

'I think...swiping it is' he said, keeping his voice low. It wasnt smart to be talking in the middle of a busy street about stealing things. 'And something warm would be nice..' he added, smiling.
Taron put his hand to his stomach. Had it just growled? It didnt feel like it...but. Then he realised, it had been poor Bane, who must be really hungry. Laughing, he turned back to Claw.
'I think i may require your services again' It had been obvious earlier that Claw (and Bane) were the stronger theives of this pack, and right now he just wanted the food fast! Claw was the 'fast' expert, and, as much as Taron hated asking, she'd probably have less trouble finding what they needed without getting caught.

Ruko shifted her weight to her right leg, putting her hands on her hips and lifting an eyebrow. "You 'require my services'? Honestly... Pack, remember? Sometimes, you don't make any sense to me, Taron..." Though she then sighed, a smile touched the corners of her mouth. "Bane, stay by Taron. I'll be right back." And then she was gone, worming her way quickly through the crowd.
Though she quickly lost sight of Taron and Bane, Ruko noted the surrounding shops. She should be able to find her way back, easy. She wasn't part of a gang for nothing. Speaking of which... if they kept going in this direction, they'd meet up with the gang again. They probably wouldn't like Taron too much. Too bad for him. There was a vendor up ahead, dry meat hanging from the top of his stall. Honestly. They thought they were invincible, did they? She swiped a handful, dropping it into a leather pouch, before moving on to another. As soon as her sack was good and full, she'd head back.
Thofte had barely registered the fact that Ruko was leaving, before she had disappeared. "Ruko!" He called, indignantly, upset that she was leaving him so soon. He grabbed onto Rok's hand, though, refusing to get left behind if he left, too.
