Ruko made her way to the town, looking back every so often to make sure Thofte and Taron were following. There were a lot of people there... Ruko wanted to turn around, and flee. She really didn't like people, but there was no way she was gonna be a coward. Especially in front of Taron! Stopping just a few steps on the inside of the town, she waited for the two to hurry up.
Thofte saw that they were close to Town, now, and sprinted to catch up to Ruko, elated. He beamed, and his face lit up. Town! They were at Town! Town... Lown... Lawn... Lawk! Lawk! "Lawk! Lawk!" He announced, dancing around Ruko, who grinned at him. "Lawk!"

'Lawk..' Taron repeated, finally deciding this place deserved atleast a quick look over. It was alright, but what really hit him was the amount of people about. Claw appeared apprehensive; she probably wasnt enjoying this experience. Taron felt guilty all of a sudden. Afterall, they were all stocked up in terms of food, they were really only here for his sake, as far as he understood. He walked up beside her.
'Sorry about this' He wanted to squeeze her hand, but then got a mental image of her claws swiping it away and the disgusted look on her face. It was hard to read her, but Taron guessed it would be more likely to be a negative reaction.

Ruko felt like hitting herself. She was that easy to read? No wonder Taron hadn't made her mad in a bit, he was learning how to read her. Great. Next thing you know, he'd be trying to get her to laugh. If he did, Creators, she was gonna smack him! If there weren't people around, though, she'd claw him. Satisfied, Ruko gave Taron a withering look. "I said we're going in, so it's fine. Don't apologize for no reason!"
Thofte sighed. He shoulda known that Ruko not getting mad at Rok wouldn't last forever. Still, she had been smiling for a bit, and that was something. She hadn't smiled, in, well, forever! He danced from foot to foot, impatient for them to hurry up, but he didn't say anything. He didn't want to get Ruko any madder than she was, though she wouldn't take it out on him. She'd take it out on Rok, and that might not be really good.

'Um...kay' He said, falling back again at the hint of venom in her tone. Note to self, dont apologise for no reason...ever. Recovering slightly, he shook it off and shifted from one foot to another, feeling uncomfortable. One the one hand he felt he should advance first; it was he who needed the supplies. On the other hand, Claw was in charge, and he'd feel safer at the rear, not wanting to give her another reason to snap.
'After you'

Ruko felt like glaring at him, but she had already done that. He knew she was mad at him, and that's all that mattered. But, honestly, could he not think for himself? "You're the one who needs the supplies. Shouldn't you be leading?" Her voice had some disregard in it, and she shrugged. "How am I supposed to know what you have, and what you don't?"
Thofte, meanwhile, wandered a few steps ahead. He had noticed quite a few children, looking younger than him, drawing in the dirt, and decided he wanted to try it. So, bending down, he began to doodle with his finger on the side of the dirt path. He was drawing Ruko.

Taron didnt reply; she'd probably find something wrong with everything he could think of saying in response, so it was better to just leave it. Not only this, but he felt he might start cutting back with equally cold remarks if they kept this conversation up, and he didnt want to end up yelling. Then Claw would really hate him. He felt like the omega wolf of the pack, and it was surprisingly difficult. She wanted him to make decisions for himself,...but it was obvious from her body and verbal language that she was in charge, which confused the whole situation for him.
Frowning, he eventually answered 'Fine' and walked past her with his chin up. Even if it was true, he hated the idea of appearing a weakling infront of her. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Bane playing in the dirt, but said nothing. Claw wouldnt like it if he encouraged the boy by smiling or laughing, but then she wouldnt like it if Taron tried to tell the boy off either.

Well, he seemed ticked. That looked like a first. From Ruko's first impression, Taron had seemed like a wimp. No matter how mean she was to him, he didn't really fight back, which was annoying. She didn't want him to try to take charge, either, but she wanted him to at least try to hold his own. Not that she would tell him. He had to figure it out by himself. Following just a step behind him, walking next to him, she let him lead the way, but she was right there with him, every step, so he wasn't just leading her blindly. "So, what do you need?" She asked, attempting to be friendly now that she had figured out he wasn't a complete wimp.
Thofte looked up from where he had been drawing, and saw Rok and Ruko walking. Rok was leading, which was a first, but Ruko wasn't far behind. Hopping to his feet, he ran to catch up, falling into step slightly behind Ruko. She wouldn't worry about him. He always made sure he was paying attention and never got left behind.

Taron raised an eyebrow at her, trying to figure out if she was messing with him. It was odd how quickly she'd changed her tone. Oh well...lets not complain. 'I need food, and maybe new clothes..and a blanket for the winter' This was going to cost, not good when he was broke. He hoped the people in this town would be easy to steal from. Then again...wouldnt it be easier to just steal the items, rather than money? Well...whatever opportunity came about first.
'How do you think i should go about obtaining those things?' He said, curious for any solutions she might have. Having two people on the job would speed things up, and he didnt really know what Bane was capable of yet, so maybe he'd be of some use. ...actually, somehow Taron doubted that. Maybe Claw should stay and look after the boy while Taron went off to get what he needed.

Ruko grinned, a mischeivious smile coming over her face. "Not honestly, of course. Besides, we're pros at this." Turning to her younger brother, she said two words, nodding at a nearby dried fruit stand. "Bane. Apple." He tilted his head to the side. "Ruko?" She nodded at him. "Yup." His eyes lit up.
Thofte was excited. It was hide-and-seek time, and it was time to get an apple. He studied the stand, and waited until the woman was busy with a few customers. Walking casually, then stopping in the dirt to draw right before he reached the stand. Only a few inches away, he listened to the conversation, waiting for his chance. Rising slowly, Thofte's hand hovered near the apples, testing the woman. When there was no reaction, he grabbed a few dried apples, sliding them into his baggy sleeves, and skipped back to Ruko. "Ruko!" He announced, proudly presenting the goods.

Taron's eyes widened in surprise. 'Uh...wow' Bane was really quite a skilled little theif. Some part of Taron found that sad; that a young boy would be so experienced in that department, but then it was just something there were all forced to do, in order to survive. It wasnt really that bad, was it?
He felt a grin spread across his features. 'Good, then this shouldnt be too hard' As much as he appreciated their help, Taron would have liked to be able to get what he needed on his own. It didnt look good, being so dependant. Probably only another reason Claw would have to criticise.
Looking around again, Taron scanned the streets for anything. 'How about we split up; see who can do better?' It was a fun challenge, but also an excuse for Taron to use some of his more...undignified methods of trickery. He was great at getting things out of pity, but didnt want to if Claw and Bane were watching.

Split up? Ruko liked the idea of a challenge, but she wasn't in the mood for it now. Besides, she wanted to see if Taron was actually any good at stealing. She raised one eyebrow, considering. It would probably go faster if they split up, but... She sighed internally. She'd just have to stay in this cursed town a little longer. "Eh, no thanks." Ruko waved a hand dismissively. "I'm don't feel like a challenge right now. Besides, I want to see if you in action. It'll be interesting." A slight smile grew on her face.
Thofte, who had been sliding the dried fruit in his bag, looked up, munching on one. So they were staying with Rok? He didn't understand the whole 'contest' thing, but it didn't really matter. If it mattered, then Ruko would've explained it. He raised her hand, voting to stay with Rok. "Rok!"

Taron groaned inwardly. Of course they'd be awkward. He'd just have to suffer any embarassement waiting to happen, with both of them as witnesses. How to build a reputation for yourself...
He shrugged. 'Alright, but prepare to be dissapointed' He ushered for them to wait in an alley, and ventured out into the street. There was an old woman selling fabrics not far away. That could work; she looked vulnerable (which almost made it harder for Taron). He closed his eyes, and focused really hard. It didnt always happen, but today he was in luck; two lines of red ran down his face. Step 1 complete. He took some blood and smeared it over his clothes, then approached the stall.
A few metres away, he collapsed, then wearily pulled himself up again. 'Excuse me...miss? do you have ..any cheap blankets?' The woman turned to him, and gasped.
'Child! Whatever happened to you?' Taron swayed on the spot, appearing shaken and exhausted.
'Attacked..in the woods...its okay, i'm alright' he said, faking wiping some blood off. He stumbled closer. 'I'm cold..just need a blanket..' The woman offered some cheap fleecey materials, and Taron checked his pockets, already knowing they were empty. 'Oh no..'
'What is it? Child, you should be inside, resting, healing. maybe i should find a doctor'
'No! No doctor...just a blanket...but'
'What?'
'My money gone, all my money! i worked so hard to save it all up' he moaned and rubbed his eyes pathetically, sniffing. The lady paused for a moment, then picked out an old grey fleece.
'There there, dear, take this, cost only a little to make, wont be much of a loss, go and lay down now' she said, smiling warmly and handing him the blanket. He faked his normal overjoyed grateful reaction, and wandered back the way he came, his winnings draped over his sholders.
When he reached Claw and Bane's hiding place, he cleaned the blood off properly. 'And thats how a desert lizard does it!' he said, bracing himself for her reaction.
((GAWD Taron is such a pathetic wuss))

Ruko watched in amusement as she saw Taron "prepping" for his stealing. A grin grew on her face as she saw his acting. He could go into show business with that kind of skill! He got the prize, that was for sure, and she couldn't help but smile when he returned. Then, she burst out laughing. "That! Was! Priceless!" She gasped out between laughs. Ruko bent over, hands on her knees, and tried desperately to stop.
After who knows how long, she managed to stop, though a quivering grin, trying to stop the laughter, was still pasted on her face. She clapped on a hand on his shoulder friendily. "I gotta say, you know how to do it, Taron." The fact that he made a total fool of himself didn't matter, as long as you could get what you needed. Ruko herself would never sink that low, however.
Bane, after being pulled into the alleyway by Ruko, plopped himself down on the ground. He pulled a white handkerchief from his pocket, though it seemed stained with dirt, and began fiddling with it. He looked up when Taron came back, but didn't pay much attention. A smile twitched at the corner of his mouth, though, when he heard Ruko laugh.

Taron cringed when she burst into fits, but oddly enough, he couldnt help giggling himself. Despite the fact that she very rarely even smiled, her laugh was the contagious kind. Oh well, he'd expected such a reaction, but didnt mind as much as he'd thought.
'You think so?' he said, faking surprise, almost taking it as a compliment. Then Taron shook his head. 'Come on, admit it, you found that a disgrace to theivery!' he chuckled, but the blanket was warm; He didnt regret anything. Worth the shame, as far as he was concerned.
'So...Blankets, check, food...well that wont be much of a problem if you guys dont mind helping, and...clothes!' he remembered. Clothes were somewhat harder to steal. It would be easier to just steal some money, and then get some half-decent items, rather than risk nicking something that didnt fit. Taron didnt like the idea of wearing things that dragged or kept falling down. Then again, to an extent, beggars couldnt be choosers. 'We'll need some money...'

A disgrace to theivery? Nothing was a disgrace to theivery unless you got caught. And besides, being a theif was the lowest of the low. How could you disgrace it further? Catching Taron's last statement, Ruko smiled. "I'll take care of that one." And then, she was gone, moving quickly through the marketplace. Swiping money was her specialty.
Going quickly from person to person, Ruko cut the cords of their coinbags. She knew which ones to steal from, as the rich and arrogant usually kept their money clearly visible, and easily stolen. Whipping back to Taron and Thofte, Ruko held up several clinking bags. She tossed one of them, the fullest, to Taron. "This enough?" She knew it was. She just felt like asking.
Thofte saw Ruko do her trick, and he smiled. She was doing her thing, and she was doing it well. When she reappeared with the money, Thofte stood up, with outstretched hands. "Ruko! Ruko!" She grinned at him, and dropped the smallest bag into his hands.
