The two leaders visibly hesitated. "I don't see no anima around here," answered the leader with the blue bandana.
"A plus anima would be welcome in MY gang," the man in the red said gruffly. "No matter what age. Anima are strong, their abilities are welcome here."
"I never said that I wouldn't accept an anima," the other leader said angrily. "I just said there ain't no anima here!"
Ryker nodded. "No need to get hysterics. Well," he turned to the other boy. "Are you a plus anima or not? Or is your question purely for the sake of a good conversation?"

Age shrugged, though his gaze didn't change. "I never said I was a +anima, and I never said I wasn't. I don't think I'm going to say, either. No reason to." He smiled slightly, before continuing. "Yes, it does make good conversation. I'll give you that one. But, that wasn't why I said it."
He turned around, adressing the group of listening people. "There's a +Anima in this bar. Maybe one, maybe two. I'm not saying which. I threw that question out there, as bait, and it was swallowed. +Anima, you know who you are. And I know who you are."
Age glared at both of the men. "I hate how you two men fight over this kid like starving dogs. Back off." Turning, finally, to the kid, Age made his last statement. "If you join a gang, you have to stay in one place. And that makes you more vulnerable to your enemies. I've got them. And I know you've got them." He folded his arms. "Comments? Anyone?"

"Yes," Ryker stepped forward. "As far as enemies go, my only one is standing in this very room. Besides, if I don't like the gang life, I can always leave. It will be like I was never here. If someone decides they want to hold me down, I'll give some scraps and bruises and burn the whole town if I want to."
The gang leaders exchanged worried glances.
Ryker continued to watch the boy, but more carefully. He sounded very interested in plus anima. From his past experiences, the only person that was this curious about anima was a hunter. Ryker suppressed a snarl.

Age's gaze hadn't left the boy. He looked very displeased with something. Most likely with Age, though he wasn't sure why. His only enemy was in this room. Hah. What a laugh. You have different enemies. Age was sure of it. And he was no enemy. In fact, he could probably be considered an ally.
"Word games are fun." Age announced, smiling. "I enjoy playing them, especially with those that are not what they appear to be." He continued, having fun with this kid, though not in a bad way. It was just fun to match wits with him. "I don't have a tattoo, though, if you catch my drift. I'm merely... curious. About those, who can look two different ways."
Age's smile quickly disappeared. "And I do not like to be judged quickly. Appearences are not always what they seem."

Ryker could feel his breath seep slowly from him. This guy was trying to ruin him! 'Appearences aren't what they seem'. Sure. He was basically shouting to everyone "anima over heereee, that kid, right there!"
"A little sensitive are we?" Ryker laughed heartlessly, fire burning in his eyes. "So if you don't like to be judged yourself, why are you judging those around you? Seems to me you have a bit of a moral issue." The leaders slowly sat back down, watching now as the two boys took the floor.
Ryker went on. "Of course, you might say you aren't judging me but rather pointing out observations. But to me, it seems you think I AM the plus anima in the room."

Age's eyebrows shot upward, and he looked a little surprised, the first emotion he had shown all evening besides distaste for gangs. The look vanished fairly quickly, though, and his steady gaze returned. "I never said that. I never once said that you were a +Anima. Not once." Realizing what the boy had misinterpreted, he attempted to change that thought. "I was actually referring to myself, when I said 'Appearences aren't what they seem'. I'm not really who I appear to me."
Crossing his arms slightly, Age frowned, slighty ticked. "I was actually not pointing out observations, nor judging you. I was simply telling you what I knew. And also, I have a question for you, though I do believe I know the answer. I just feel like hearing you say it." He paused for a moment, whether for effect or because of hesitation, he did not reveal. "You said your only enemy is in this room. Who, may I ask?"

Ryker felt as if an iron hand was gripping his throat. He could not simply lie in front of all these men, unwilling to throw out names.
"I," Ryker started. "I apologize if I offended you, for it was not you that I was talking about." Huh. The idea of Ryker actually apologizing was laughable, but it was his only hope to shake off this nosy stranger. All his instincts told him to run. Still he refused. This time, he had to stand his ground.

Age's eyebrows shut up again, slightly surprised. He had expected, just from the various hints the boy kept dropping, and the way that the boy didn't seem to like him, well, at all, that the kid had mistook him for someone against +Anima. Perhaps he still believed that, but he didn't think Age was his enemy.
The boy smiled slightly, the surprised look vanishing quickly from his face. "I'm happy to hear that. Ignore my question, then."

Ryker shifted his weight. This boy was just curious, asking stupid questions. There was a chance that he could be an hunter, and then again, he had never seen a hunter so young. He could always be a plus anima, owned by a hunter...meant to capture him and bring him to Sailand.
"I'll come back tommorrow, when temperatures have cooled down," Ryker declared. He walked towards the door, careful to not move to fast. Act human. Act human. Don't panic. He opened the doors to the bar.
With a glance over his shoulder, he left.

The men, having been watching their exchange with a mixture of fear and awe, moved away to their own business. Age stood there for a moment, letting the attention drift away from him, and, when only a few people were still casting him glances, he left, letting the door close gently behind him.
The kid wasn't far ahead. Jogging slightly to catch up, Age fell into pace with him, smiling. There was no one else around. "Hello, +Anima!" He announced, a bit less reserved now that they were away from the gangs. "I mean, that's what you are, isn't it?" He added, though he already knew. Precisely.

I heared the bar door slam, heared the running footsteps. What I didn't expect was that voice...and what he yelled. He was here. Again. And anyone with a good ear could hear what he shouted.
I spun around, seething. "Don't yell such things!" My words almost begged for him to shut up. Pathetic, I know. "People will think you've gone crazy or something. Go away."
Ryker twisted away with the intention of walking away from this conversation. However, the boy followed.
Ryker felt the hairs on his neck rise. "What is it you want?" The boy was silent. Ryker sighed, lowering his voice as he spoke. "Listen, if you want to find an anima, don't go walking around asking. Even if someone was a plus anima, they would never reveal their identity."

Age smiled at the boy's words. "That's actually really ironic. I've had quite a few +Anima tell me their identities. Let's see... There was Izumi, the mouse +Anima, the snake... A bird +Anima, though I'm not really sure. I don't have fond memories of her, let me tell you that." He crossed his arms, and his voice went quieter. "Honestly, you're not the first +Anima I've met. And if you want to keep it a secret, don't get ticked at me that easily. You ate my bait, hook, line, and sinker."
He fished. Age liked that terminology, though many thought it was weird. "As for what I want, hmm... I honest-to-goodness just like +Anima. I'm interested, I keep records. They're pretty much normal people, just with special powers. And I think those special powers are cool, and interesting." Age folded his arms. "Any other questions?"

Ryker snarled. "What happened to all those animas you reasearched, threw them into Sailand? If you want the satisfaction of knowing I'm a plus anima, then you're right. You're a hunter, a slavehunter. Hiring younger and younger, huh? I'm not going back there, you'll have to skin me first."

Age brought his fist up, ready to murder this kid, but he stopped when it was about level with his shoulder. Taking a deep breath, trying to calm down, though the anger still showed on his face, Age responded with a harsh voice. "Of course not! I'm no hunter, and I've never even been in Sailand! That's what I was trying to tell you! 'Appearences can be decieving'! I'm no hunter!" Age stated passionately, angry that the kid would even think that by now.
"Honestly!" He folded his arms, letting out a sigh. "I can want to learn more about +Anima without being evil or deranged, you know. You're so stererotypical..."

Taken aback, Ryker stared at the boy. Curious about anima, human, short temper, good fighter. All the ideals of a hunter. Yet not.
"How can you blame me?" defended Ryker. "I was protecting myself. My whole life I've either been under the control of humans or being hunted. It's only natural I should be suspicious. Every human I've ever met that is interested in anima either wants them as slaves or pets."
Fuming Ryker took in deep breaths. "A human like you wouldn't understand how hard it is for an anima to live freely."
