Too true, too true. +Animas were always hunted. But... Age could half understand that. The last words, however, made him pause for a second, and he half-smiled. "True."
"I probably won't be able to understand everything you're going through. Being here in Asteria, you should be able to live freely, but you can't. Gotta be tough. I do know, however, how hard it is to live, period. I've been on my own since I was six. It's a tough world, kid."
Age smiled completely. "I never introduced myself, did I?" He stuck out his hand. "I'm Age." (A-jee)

Ryker paused before he shook Age's hand. "Ryker." He dropped his hand to his side. "I'm passing through, thought I might stay for awhile before the hunters sniff me out again. You're different then most human kids that i've seen." Age nodded, his eyes expressionless. Ryker quickly corrected himself. "I mean, not like that's a bad thing, being different. Most human kids...they don't know how to take care of themselves, think for themselves. They don't know how hard life can get."
Ryker shivered, but not because it was cold. "Listen, if you want to talk, the middle of the street in a town full of gangs isn't the best place."

Ryker... He'd have to jot that down in his notebook later. Hearing Ryker's words about how different he was from most human kids, a smile touched the corner of his lips. Yeah... people had said that about him before. He wasn't exactly... normal, you could say.
At Ryker's final words, a smiled came across Age's pretty much expressionless face. "Probably not, although they wouldn't be too hard to take." Instinctively, his hand fell on the hilt of his sword, not yet drawn that night. And a good thing, too, because blood probably shouldn't be drawn in this town, above all. "There's a restaurant up ahead that's pretty quiet," Age offered, remembering from earlier today.

"Alright," Ryker agreed. "You lead."
As they walked, Ryker analyzed Age carefully. He seemed truthful enough. Better memorize escape routes in case. He watched as the lights dimmed in the surrounding buildings, listen as the sound of the bar drifted away, watched the moon grow brighter. His attention never wavered, though, from the boy, Age.
Finally, the reached their destination.

Age lead the way, with Ryker silent behind him. He could practically feel the boy's eyes burning into his back. A temple throbbed as he grew slightly irritated by the boy's gaze. Did he really have to analyze him like that? They were just walking to a restaurant. When they reached it, "The Lotus Flower", Age turned around, ticked.
"Would you quit staring at me?" Age told him, very annoyed. "It's really starting to get on my nerves! I'm not gonna do anything! Gosh!"

Ryker stepped back, away from Age. "Didn't know you were so paranoid. When know for certain I can trust you, then maybe I won't be so...suspicious. But for now, I have every reason to keep my guard up. Deal with it. I don't have to talk to you. I can leave right now."
He paused, allowing the words to sink into Age's mind.
"Your choice."
Ryker brushed past Age and into the restuarant. The waitress looked up expectantly.
"May I help you?"
Ryker cast her a half glance. "What do you have for food around here?"

God. That kid was really starting to get annoying. Age sighed, facepalming. Did he really want to follow that kid into there? He was starting to get on his nerves. Whenever someone would get on his nerves, usually, he ditched them. He liked Ryker a bit more when he thought Age was a hunter. It was a bit more fun. But no, he had to be annoying NOW.
Sighing, Age followed Ryker into the restaurant, and heard the end of the conversation. The waitress was talking. "Well, sir, we have meat, pasta, soup, salad, and a variety of other foods."
Age walked up to stand by Ryker, glaring at him out of the corner of his eye (he didn't like being called paranoid), before adressing the waitress. "Just get us a table for two, please."

Ryker cast Age an annoyed glance, then remembered Age didn't like to be stared at. As the waitress seated them, Ryker asked, "Can you get me a steak? A big one. Juicy."
The waitress froze, as if she saw a ghost. "Um...are you that hungry?"
"Yes." Ryker glared at her. The waitress hurried away, leaving the two alone.
"Ok. Let's get on with it," hissed Ryker. "What do you want to know?"

He was rude to the waitress. Apparently, he was ticked at Age. Good. They could get this over fast. Age crossed his arms, sitting back in his chair.
"I don't want much. I just want to know who you are, your +Anima, and things like that. Then, I'll leave, and you'll probably never see my face again. Sound good to you, or do you not want to talk?"
(FAIL POST!!! Sorry...)

Ryker flicked at the fork on the table. "Whatever. Just don't go scrambling to the authorities." He checked to make sure no onw was around. Empty. "You want to know what my anima is, fine. You already know I'm a plus anima." He stood in one fluid motion and closed his eyes. This was the first time he had ever willingly showed his anima form to a human. He felt his ears rise above his head, his claws slide out from his fingers, the markings form on his body, the tail, his feet, his teeth.....
Hopened his icy blue eyes. "Snow leopard."

Age watched with eyes narrowed as the boy transformed. Interesting... Out of all the +Anima he had met, he was only the second that had transformed. The other had been the bird +Anima, who had been flying away. There had been a hunter nearby, so it was understandable.
"Snow Leopard, huh? Interesting... There's not many snow leopards in Asteria, or in Sailand, for that matter. Kind of rare animals, actually." He glanced out of the corner of his eyes, hearing the talk in the kitchen. Hopefully, the waitress wouldn't come out of the kitchen anytime soon. He'd tell the kid to untransform, but he probably wouldn't take it well.

Ryker shifted back into his human form, picking up the sounds in the kitchen. He sat back down. "It's easier just to show you then to tell you. It speeds up things." At that moment, the waitress came out of the kitchen with the steak, setting it down before Ryker. He nodded to her, then grabbed the steak with both hands and began to chew.
In a matter of seconds, he had swallowed a quarter of the food. "In case you're wondering, I haven't had any food for a couple of days," Ryker added between mouthfuls.

Age smiled. "Sometimes, that happens to me, too." Turning to the waitress, who was hovering by the table, half fascinated and half disturbed by the way Ryker was eating, he adressed her. "Excuse me, miss, could I have the soup of the day, please?" She turned, slightly startled, and nodded at him, hurrying off.
"So..." Age began to talk, ignoring Ryker's ravaging eating habits, "How did you get your +Anima?"

Ryker swallowed another mouthful of steak, suddenly sad. THis was the longest time he had gone without thinking about that fateful day.... He pushed away his half eaten food, too troubled to eat.
He looked past Age and out the window, imagining snowflakes falling from the sky. Gentle and calm.
"I was...six," Ryker murmured. "Snow. Lots of it...." He trailed off, unable to say anything more. "Sorry. I don't think I'm quite ready for that," he added in a small voice.

Age shook his head, not surprised. "No one's been able to. They try, and then they choke up or something like that. You don't have to answer that one."
The waitress returned, with a bowl of steaming of stew, and Age thanked her, before taking a bite. It was hot, and he swallowed gingerly, deciding to wait a bit. "So, then, what brings you to this town? All that's here is pretty much trouble, and I'd think, as a +Anima, you'd get enough trouble." The waitress had gone back to the kitchen, probably to chat.
