Mouse happily led the way into the town, chattering delightly about how excited she was to see Snake, and how glad he would to see them. A few minutes into the busy town, which was more like a city, she stopped, already knowing what to do.
Shark turned around, gaze on Stormcrest. "This is where we part ways. If you are not joining the gang, you are not allowed to meet Snake. Understood?" His voice was harsh as usual, but his eyes held a tad more hostility. He knew that she was suspicious, and he didn't like it at all.

Stormcrest nodded. "Sure. Thanks for letting me tag along." She caught Ryker's eye. "I'll see Ryker afterwards."
"Yeah, where should I meet you...."
Stormcrest tilted her head as she thought. "I'll find you. I have some stuff to take care of."
Ryker frowned. "You might like being in a gang again. As long as you aren't obeying the master again...."
"I'm good," Stormcrest said a little too sharply, spinning on her heel and running off.
Ryker rubbed his head, back in his human form. "Its always like that." He sighed.

Shark nodded at him. "It's not the life for everyone. We have found it particularly enjoyable, however." he told the younger boy, meaning him and Mouse. With that, he turned, leading the way. "Follow me." He led them through the streets, sometimes taking some that doubled back, and going through alleys that seemed to lead to nowhere. If you were asked to go that way again, you probably couldn't.
After a few minutes of walking, with Mouse following, strangely quiet, Shark turned down a dead-end alley. Two people, who had looked like homeless bums leaning against the wall, rose up, holding swords, but froze when they realized who it was. "Shark-sama? Mouse-sama?" one of them, the smaller one, asked.
Mouse nodded, piping back up again. "Yup! Back from an 'R' mission!" she jammed her tumb backwards at Ryker. "We'd like to be let through, Stallion, Xerxes." The two looked at each other, surprised, before settling back to their positions.

Stormcrest darted through the ally ways, being here many times before. Both on job and not. She was like a shadow, as she slithered to and from, making no noise. Her hunter techniques were well trained, they had to be so she could survive. Hunting has been her whole life. She was luckier then some enslaved plus anima, like Ryker. She had the freedom to travel. The hunters would put her in a cage, bring her to an area, give her the identity and number of the anima she was supposed to hunt, and she did the rest. Why didn't she run away all those times? She slowed to a stop, just outside the collisum. A boy leaned against the building.
"Stormcrest," the boy said with a slick smile. "Haven't seen you around fer awhile here. Been on duty in Sailand all this time?"
"None of your business, filthbag," spat Stormcrest as she walked casually towards him.
"See nothing's changed," he said.
"Night is growing cold, and I want to be out of here. How much does it cost to enter the collisum?"
The boy's dark eyes flashed. "I wouldn't do it now, Storm-"
"Why not?" she demanded.
"The King, he has spies surround'n this place. They've been watching the collisum to see if they can find any anima. Besides, they heard one of thethree major gangs were here. This place is crawling with anima."
Stormcrest narrowed her eyes. "I need the money. Get me in, now."

Mouse and Shark opened a door built into the right side of the alley, one that had no doorstep or anything. If you glanced down the alleyway, you wouldn't be able to see it. Mouse proceeded first, with Shark holding open the door for Ryker. It closed behind the three with an ominous click.
The hall they were in was bright and well-lit, showing that it was a decently nice place, with nothing but doors on the sides. From those doors came the sounds of people moving, though no one took a step outside of them. Mouse led the way down to the door at the end, knowing where to go. Opening it, she peered inside. "Snake?" she called, not revealing any of the room to those behind her.

"Uh," the boy hesitated. "I don't know if I can do that Stormcrest."
"Really?" growled Stormcrest.
"I couldn't-"
"Funny. Sign me up. I'll come back for the date tommorrow. Sometime this week preferably. Now on to the gangs, what do you know about them?"

Mouse opened the door, stepping in, while Shark followed, with a gesture to Ryker that he should come in as well. "Snake?" A figure disentangled himself from the shadows in the corner of the room, coming into light. "Snake!" Mouse called excitedly, running forward to embrace him. Shark followed slower, and Snake put a hand on the younger boy's shoulder, smiling.
Shark spoke, not thinking of Ryker at the moment. "Snake, there's a girl here, a +Anima, who still works for her owner. I believe she thinks we are the Slave gang of the Tri."
Snake scowled. "Jumping to conclusions yet again. Everyone always thinks we're that one."
Mouse piped up now, releasing Snake. "Well, I mean we're the mysterious gang!" she giggled. "No one's really gonna know, then, right?"
Snake nodded at her, before noticing Ryker. "And who might this be?" he asked, smiling and showing his perfectly white teeth once more.

Ryker held his breath as Shark told Snake about Stormcrest. What would they do to her?
"I'm Ryker Sundown," he said automatically. He relaxed his body, trying to act casual. "Shark and Mouse met me in Rock Porter. The girl that Shark mentioned, I know her."

A look of understanding came over Snake's face. "Ah, so the 'R' mission was successful. Good." As the rest of Ryker's words came out, he nodded at him. "Well, your friend's got some wrong ideas about us, so if you could set her straight, that'd be good." He nodded shortly at Shark, before turning back to Ryker.
"So, I'm assuming you're here because you want to join our gang, right?" He smiled again, though it didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Yes," confirmed Ryker. "If I can, that is."
He dropped his gaze intense gaze, and glanced around the room. "I have no where else to go."

Shark, putting his hand on Snake's shoulder, whispered the whole story into his ear. The leader's gaze grew more intense, roving over Ryker, and his face showed no expression. Mouse, for all her assurances, looked slightly worried as she saw no expression on Snake's face.
Straightening up, Snake kept his intense gaze on Ryker. "I see why, now. But, yes, you can stay." He waved his hand dismissively. "It's no big deal, though I will ask you to try to learn to control yourself."

Ryker supressed a growl. "I've been trying to do that for my whole life! Do you think its something I want, being a savage killer?" He felt his body shake, and he took in several deep breaths. He turned away, pacing back and forth to calm down again. After several moments, he felt himself ease back to "normal" and stopped.
Ryker's eyes, while he had almost gotten out of control, had turned a swirl of icy blue and silver, as if he was halftransformed. He had to be careful. Unlike with Stormcrest, he was not yet "immune" to Mouse and Shark.

Snake, blinked, looking faintly surprised, though his smile didn't wipe away. His lips, however, covered his teeth, though his smile remained. "Calm down, Ryker. I didn't mean anything by it." He held up his hands. Mouse and Shark, who had automatically fallen into defensive positions when Ryker seemed about to lose control, relaxed.
Snake had continued. "I assumed you were, I just mean you have to be extra careful. After all, except for two, and one of them is a compromise, everyone in this gang is a +Anima. I didn't mean anything by it. Trust me." His gaze grew slightly haunted. "I know how you feel."
Quickly changing to normal, Snake blinked, before going on. "But, Ryker, what are your conditions? Are you going to be one of those that seek shelter? Do you wish to be a scouting team and run missions like Mouse and Shark? What do you want?"

Ryker studied Snake for a moment, weighing his decision if he should trust him or not. "I can take care of myself, shelter isn't an issue for me. With this place full of plus anima, I doubt it would be of much comfort. Missions I'm alright with, but with my...condition...I might be as successful as some."
He rubbed his left arm, feeling uncomfortable. "I guess I came...because I wanted to find a place where I'd be accepted. Family. People I can trust. I thought that maybe my condition would go away, if I got reintroduced to society. Lately I've been able to control it, but it isn't a guarentee." He looked away, thinking hard. "When I heard of the gang and got an offer, my heart seemed to tell me what to do. I was scared at first, but Mouse and Shark convinced me. I may not know exactly why I'm standing before you now, but I will."

Snake smiled, seemingly pleased with his answer. "I like you, Ryker. You've gotta heart in the right place, no matter what your past." He turned to Shark and Mouse, nodding slightly at them. "Mission 'N'."
Though there was no noticable difference on Shark's face, Mouse's face lit up. "Really!?" she yelled, delighted, before realizing how loud she was. "But, really? Mission 'N'! It's been ages!" Snake nodded, his eyes flickering up toward Shark.
Shark nodded. "Of course. Makes perfect sense." Catching Snake's glance, the corners of his mouth upturned slightly. "Yes, I figured. What else were you going to do?"
Snake smiled, please. "Well, glad that's all settled," he said, putting his hands behind his head. "You two are usually the best for Mission 'N', and in this case..."
