Clora stopped howling and followed after Taron like a lost chick. Taron wasn't happy, anyone could tell. Why should he? He just got lost in a forest with a girl who howled. Clora felt slightly guilty for making Taron angry or sad or whatever horrible feeling. She obviously didn't know what exact feeling he was feeling, she's not a mind reader. "...I'm sorry..." she whimpered, feeling bad for getting Taron lost.
To be honest, she didn't care that she was lost. It was just another exciting adventure of her life so far. So many exciting adventures, so little time. Even the simple task of buying a jacket was difficult. Arriving at Abon, finding an inn, finding a wolf pup in the inn, sleeping, waking up and getting lost in a forest; all in around twelve hours, and still no jacket. That thought for some reason made Clora warm with pride, even though she was rubbing her arms again to stop the cold getting to her again.

Taron kept on walking in silence. Clora had seemingly become a different person. For the first time since they'd met, Taron felt in charge, and she was following like a little kid, rubbing her arms to stay warm and whimpering pathetic apologies. Taron sighed. Clora was great, but part of her just hadnt grown up, really. He guessed maybe there was nothing wrong with that, and suddenly he felt as if he'd been too harsh on her. Who was he, to stop her having fun while she could?
'S'alright...you just choose strange places to play around in' He slowed down, so he was now walking beside her, and smiled, genuinly this time. He was about to speak again when another howl cut through the forest, sounding dangerously close. Taron paused, and stood still, glancing at Clora with a worried expression.

Clora stopped slightly ahead, and glanced back at Taron. "Come on! It's nothing to worry about! Wolves hardly attack people... Unless they're in a huge pack and are staving." Clora said, conjuring up fanasty wolves that eat people. She continued, describing some wolves that ate children, then familes, before entire villages. She was unaware she was making the moment worst than it actually was.
A sleek shape slid through the shadows, almost making no sound. Almost. Clora obviously wasn't paying attention. "...And they're as big as a man if they stand on their hind legs, and they kill people in their dreams and the only thing the don't like is fire, because it makes them too hot--" Clora's interest turned on something else. "Oh look! It's lil' nasty!"
And sure enough, lil' nasty was lying on a tuft of grass.
Clora then grinned a very large grin. Her eyes twinkled in excitment. "That means other wolves are near him."

Taron winced and started shaking when Clora began explaining all those lovely stories about wolf habits. As if he wasnt frightened enough. She was blissfully unaware though, and didnt seem afraid in the slightest. He shrugged inwardly. If she wasnt scared, that should bring him some comfort.
Then she pointed out a familiar figure, and Taron paused. There was the little pup, gazing up at them. He wondered if the wolf could remember them both. He didnt know much about the memory span of a puppy. But....'O-other wolves??' Oh no. That meant they should get out of here quickly. He didnt feel like sticking around to experience all of those ways Wolves can kill, as Clora had been explaining before.

Clora turned around, "There they are!" She pointed at a single wolf, who was edging around them. It was odd how Clora said 'they' when there was clearly only one. "Maybe it's gonna tear lil' nasty limb from limb, or maybe she's gonna tear us limb from limb!"
Clora was, to be truthful, slightly scared. But why be scared when you could be excited! This was a fasinating moment! Maybe over wolves would come and gang up on them, then they'll get to climb up trees and wait until the wolves leave them alone. Something in Clora's brain, known as Common Sense, knew that the wolf wouldn't summon even more, and gang up on them. The wolf was in a fit condition, and looked like it had eaten something earlier. It had no reason... Except the pup. Clora stepped backwards slowly, towards the pup. The wolf bared it's teeth and snarled slightly. Then it howled. And howled. And howled.
Clora decided not to cackle. It wasn't the moment.

Taron was paralysed, trying to block out all the things Clora was saying. The stranger wolf howled, and he pressed his hands to his ears. What was it doing? He had a horrid feeling it might be calling in reinforcements, and he realised it was about the cub.
'Clora! Get away from the pup' They could see it was alright, so neither of them had any reason to stay; not unless they wanted to get torn to pieces by a whole pack. Taron certainly didnt, and at that moment fresh blood lines ran down his face. The wolf turned its head, eyeing the odd display. Oh no...what if he though Taron was a threat? The blood was meant to scare off predators...but somehow it was only making this one more angry. It must not be effective on wolves, he thought grimly.
'Let go!' he hissed, and turned his face away from the wolf. He hoped the thing would realise he was backing down.

"If you want it to leave you alone lie on your back. It's a sign of submisson." said Clora, in a matter-o-factly way. She didn't look like she was going to lie on her back anytime soon, she was having too much fun teasing the wolf.
Some more wolves appeared, not in a line or standing in front of them in a group, but all spread out, so the only way you could see all of them was having eyes at the back of your head. Those ones look hungry She pointed out mentally, before poking the pup. One of the wolves bounded over, wanting to protect the pup for whatever reason. Clora quickly slipped into her +Anima form and grabbed hold of Taron, already into a fast paced gallop. "I'm sorry! You're really scared aren't you? Don't worry... They'll only chase us for two miles or so." said Clora, looking at the boy who bled from his eyes. "Oooh! You're bleeding again!" Clora stopped to look at Taron in curiostity, forgetting all about the wolves.

Lie on your back? That was silly. Taron doubted something like that would work. On the other hand, his logic was probably being messed up by the fear he felt in his gut. More wolves had come, and they were surrounded. Clora poked the pup. She POKED it!!! How stupid could she get; it was like she was asking to get eaten by one of these things.
Then in a flash he was suddenly moving. Fast. Oh no...Clora was galloping again, with him as her passenger. Part of him was pleased with her quick escape, but then of course..They'll only chase us for two miles or so. They werent safe yet...
Suddenly they stopped, and Clora was staring at him strangely. 'What....what is it?' He felt his face, and remembered the blood. Oooh! you're bleeding again!
'CLORA!! RUN!' who cared about his bloody face!? She was too easily distracted, and that could cost both of them their lives in this situation.

((Awww, don't call Clora stupid! It's not her fault she's kinda crazy. You don't wanna make her depressed do you? Well, DO YOU!? XD))
Clora giggled to herself as she began moving again. Taron was really frightened! A part of her made her feel guilty. It was all her fault. Taron didn't deserve to be chased by a pack of wolves. No-one did. She would apologise properly later.
"There's a wolf. There's a wolf. There's a wolf." she pointed out, not really looking were she was going. Still, she didn't smack into a tree or trip on a fallen branch. Not yet anyway.
"Oooh!! Looky there! ...A rainbow! Huh... That means it's been raining though... Maybe it was raining during the night? It could of, I didn't really hear it though." babbled Clora, although she said it slower than she usually spoke. It was just the running. Who can talk at great speeds while galloping? "Maybe there's a pot of gold over there?" It was like being at a hairdresser. Clora continued to chat about random things, as if they weren't being chased by wolves.
Her hooves skidded in front of her as she stopped at the edge of the forest. The wolves couldn't be seen, but anyone could hear them barking or howling. They weren't far. "I can't haa run any haa further." she murmured between breaths. "It's a haa long way to haa run." All of Clora's common sense left her as she lay down. At least she did it carefully so she didn't trap Taron's legs.

((XD OMG I'M SORRYYY!! haha))
Taron moaned and held on tighter, closing his eyes. He just wished they were back in the town, back in the inn, back in bed. That was all he wanted really, that and maybe some food....but what was he doing thinking about that now!? Opening his eyes again, he looked around for any more danger, so he might be of some help.
Clora was babbling again, about rain and rainbows and other irrelevant subjects that he couldnt care less about. Having said that, the rainbow was quite magnificent; he probably would have appreciated its beauty more though, under more comfortable circumstances.
Then they reached the edge of the forest, and Clora collapsed.
'Hey! Dont stop now! The wolves will come for us!' Taron almost felt like hopping up and down on the spot. What was she doing? She couldnt be tired now, of all times! Getting increasingly scared of the howls ringing out through the trees, Taron bent down and shook Clora. 'Come on....get up!' he moaned. Luckily she wasnt that heavy...(or didnt look it). Maybe he could carry her for a little bit....then again, he wasnt the most muscular of kids his age.

Clora's normal legs appeared as she slumped onto her side. "Mrrreeeeeh." she mumbled. "I'll just lie here and you go run free my child, run free!" Clora waved one arm about, gesturing freedom of some sort. Taron doesn't like riding on my back, then he can run of his own back!, she thought. She then realised that that didn't make sense and she should get up anyway because there was a wolf standing right there.
"Isn't that wolf loooovely. Maybe he'll follow us back to the inn, that'll be lovely wouldn't it?" Clora mumbled, rolling on her back. "Then there'll be another person in the inn, and I can talk to the innkeeper about my allergy to water... I'm sorry. Now... Where was I... AAAAAAIIIGH!!! RUN TARON, RUN!!!" Clora squealed, shooting up and grabbing hold of Taron's arm. "You have to run for meeee. I can't feel my leeeegs!!!"

Clora had lost it. Taron could only gaze at her with a face of horror, anger, fear, disbelief, all of it mixed into one mangled expression. She was talking nonsense, mumbling rubbish, sometimes quietly, and then yelling at him and clinging to his arm. What was wrong with her? He was starting to think maybe she wasnt right in the head.
You have to run for meee. i cant feel my leeegs!
'What do you mean you cant feel your legs!!!' That was just great. What did she mean about running?. He glanced at the wolves in fright. Did she want him to leave her there? or take her with him somehow...Well whatever she wanted, Taron didnt have it in him to leave her behind. The real question was, did he have it in him to lift her. Probably not, but he'd give it a go.
Pulling one of her spindly arms over his sholder, Taron made an attempt to hoist her to her feet. 'Stop struggling!' he hissed, but Clora must have been semi-correct about her legs; she just fell against him, making him blush. 'Come on, atleast try and stand!'

"They hurt too much to try! Did you run out of the forest? --Ooooooooooooh. Hello Mr. Wolf, are you hungry? I can see your ribs, here take a bite from my leg." Still clinging onto Taron, Clora began swinging her leg back and forth to an approaching wolf. Other wolves began circling around them.
"Okay Mr. Wolf, you bite it any time you like. I must warn you most of it's bone." she chatted away to 'Mr. Wolf' as if he were a person buying food. The wolf just watched her leg, it came closer and further, closer and further. The wind blew in it's face, bringing a whole new scent. The smell of blood. It made eye contact with the boy who had blood all over his face. Mr. Wolf could sense the fear of the boy. A snarl and a bark later, the wolf bounded at Taron, only to be met by a hard object that was sailing through the air at that point. The wolf fell onto the ground, motionless apart from it's light twitching.
"Nyyeeeeeeh!!" squealed Clora, wiping the wolf's blood off her hoof with a cloth (probably another part of her trousers) then handed it to Taron. "Wipe the blood off your face, it's a disgrace! A disgrace!" she said, half smiling. Almost forgetting about the other wolves, Clora dropped onto the now-human knees and stroked the wolf's dense fur. "I'm sorry Mr. Wolf. Killing people is wrong, but so is killing wolves. I didn't want you to die, but that was kinda the plan. I'm sorry Mr. Wolf." Clora stood up and faced Taron, grinning. "Pay tributes to Mr. Wolf! I'll watch the other wolves!"

Taron fell to his knees, in shock. If Clora hadnt landed that kick, he'd be wolf prey right now. Silently, he took the cloth, and did as he was told, not really caring about the whole 'disgrace' insult. Then he moaned, and leant forward on his arms, staring at the ground and taking deep breaths. Clora had just killed a wolf, and saved him. Her legs must be better now; she was standing, but now it was him who felt awful, shaking all over.
'Th-thanks' he mumbled, feeling distant, as though he was just watching this whole scene, and wasnt actually part of it. There were still other wolves, but for some odd reason he wasnt as worried as before. The girl before him wanted Taron to 'pay tribute' to the wolf. He wondered why...and how? Right now he just felt like curling up on the ground and being left alone to recover.

((And now it's time for the less used part of Clora's personality; her mothering side XD))
"That was fun! Let's get back to the inn because we don't want to miss breakfast, do we Taron? Taron? Tar--" Clora turned around and stared at Taron. "--on? Heey, what's wrong? Was it the wolves? Did they scare you? Don't worry, they're gone. I think outside the woods isn't their territory."
The wolves were all gone, retreated. Apart from the dead one, that was still lying on the ground.
"C'mon you lil' lamb. We'll walk back, 'kay?" Clora took hold of Taron's arm and tugged at it gently, encouraging him forward, but not forcing him. "Small steps. Just take small steps. There ain't no rush." She smiled at him. Just keep smiling and the world will smile back...
