Kimi had woken up to her nap from eariler a bit too late and she couldn't fall back asleep no matter how hard she tried. She took a long shot trying to open the door. It wasn't locked. Thanks Ashel she thought as she peacked her head out the door and saw Ashel in his bed (hopefully) asleep. She quickly made her way to the door and closed it carefully as she steped out the room and into the halls where she quickly made her way to the main dock.
She new she'd find someone here, since there had to be someone guiding the boat. She knew that the boat was still moving since the unsteady swayness of the boat jerked around sometimes, unlike the sways you would get if your boat was still in the water. She looked around, trying to find the captin and she found him. He was guiding the boat along the waves with only one other crew member keeping track to the sails.
"Oi! Girlie! What are you doing up this late?" he asked, waving one hand towards Kimi. She took her time walking over to him and when she was close enough to him, she point at her collar then at the sea. "You a fish +anima, girly?" She shook her head and mouthed the word 'bird' then he nodded. "Go ahead, just don't get lost or drown, 'cause we're not going back for you. Got that?" She nodded and walked over to the rail and sat on it, her feet dangling over the rail.
She let herself fall off the railing, her +anima coming in and saving her from hitting the water. She took flight above the water, letting her fingers brush against the calm waves of the water. The quarter moon and stars above gave some light to her as she flew, sure that the only people watching her now were the Captin and the crew guy, but he was busy making sure everything was in order.

Ashel shifted slightly in bed, in a state of half consciousness and half asleep as he heard the muffled patter of footsteps and a quiet click.
At least partially thanks to his owl +anima, he'd had a hard time falling asleep on the ship when everyone else had, but eventually the odd feeling but actually rather lulling swaying of the boat had let him go into a light slumber.
The brief motion around him had started to stir him, though, and eventually his eyes opened, the boy sighing in frustration as he tried to force them shut again.
A thought suddenly came to him, however, as his mind started to become more awake. Those footsteps could only have been made by one person. "...Kimi...?" He asked quietly, sitting up halfway. He hadn't been conscious enough to know for sure, but they'd sounded like they were coming from outside of her own room.
Suddenly feeling too unsettled to go straight back to sleep, he sat up and walked over to the door in front of her closet area. Pulling it open just slightly, so as not to wake her up if she was still asleep inside, he quickly realized it was empty - nothing left in her bed but sheets that looked like they'd been pulled back.
He felt himself tense again, realizing that she must've left the entire cabin. Where would she have gone this late at night? At least hardly anyone else in their right mind would be awake, so they probably wouldn't get in trouble, but...
Still feeling restless, he walked out into the hall himself and out onto the deck, gazing around for her.
He didn't have to look long, motion catching his and dragging his gaze out over towards the sea almost as soon as he stepped out.
It was her. She was in her +anima, out flying over the water alongside the boat. Her wings had a slight glint of silver from the moonlight, her hair dancing in front of her face and her fingers kicking up water from the waves as she skimmed the top of the liquid surface. She actually looked...quite beautiful. Ashel just stared as she played in the air near the ship, not saying anything. He'd always thought of +anima as so awful and ugly, but...
He suddenly felt something resembling envy, a strange urge welling up within him to join her. Even to him, it felt strange to see another person actually fly, but...
But I could too, if...
The wanting felt completely unnatural to him. He'd always hated his +anima - every time he'd used it had been out of necessity, he never wanted to. But this time... He continued watching her dance in the air over the water, feeling his fingers start to tremble slightly.
But even if he did want to join her, he couldn't. Even though most of the passengers were fast asleep, there was still the captain and his assistant nearby. He couldn't let anyone find out what he was - and that included them. Still feeling defeated and odd, he just stayed and watched her quietly as he waited for her to come back, it seeming like she hadn't noticed him.

Kimi continued to dance across the waves of the water like a water spider on water. Every so often she'd come up, towards the sky, then dart back down to the water. She could smell the salt and see the moon's beautiful reflection. Of course she had smell the salt from the water since they entered the port.
Finally, she felt like she streached her wings enough and flew gracefully back to the boat. As her foot touched the smooth surface of the wooden floor, her +anima retreated and she looked at the captin, whom was staring at her. "I forgot to tell ya': you can take that collar off. In Asteria, there are no slaves there," he said and Kimi looked down at her collar, her hand on the tip of it.
"M-mabey lat-ter" she stuttered as she made her way back down to the cabins area. I hope Ashel didn't notice I was gone... she thought to herself worridily as she took hold of the door nob. Slowly twisting it, she pushed the door open and peaked through.

Ashel continued watching as she landed and headed back towards the hall, likely returning to their cabin.
He tensed slightly. Apparently she'd never noticed him, but she was bound to realize he wasn't there when she got back to the cabin.
Deciding it was better to announce his own presence than leave her discover it, Ashel suddenly hurried down the hall after her, coming up behind her as she peeked through the door to their cabin, where she would discover him missing.
"T...there you are!" He sputtered, hoping he wouldn't startle her too much. "I...just realized you were missing and went out looking for you. What where you doing at this hour?" He asked, making sure his voice sounded more curious than accusing. It was probably better to pretend that he'd only just gotten up to find her, than admit that he was watching her the whole time.

"Nothing" Kimi said shyly as her eyes fell to the floor (no literally lolz). Had he seen her fly? If so, how would he react? Get a hold of yourself Kimi! This is how he is acting. Duh she thought scronfully to herself. She walked out from behind the door, closing it behind her.
"D-does it really matter anyways?" she asked a little two loudly. Her words almost seemed agressive even though she didn't mean it. "I-I mean. I'm back arn't I?"

"Err...n...no! It doesn't matter..." Ashel answered quickly, surprised by her tone. "Y...yeah... I...was just surprised when I woke up and realized you were gone..." He looked down slightly, away from her gaze - hopefully she wasn't mad, maybe it had been unnecessary for him to go out looking for her...

"Oh..." Kimi said, realizing her tone of voice "Sorry. I shouldn't have yelled...I...um...I'm going to go back to sleep now..." she said sorrowful for the way she acted. She walked back to her closest -I mean room- and sat on her bed, thinking about what she said. Was it right for him to be worried that she was gone? Did he really have to go off looking for her? So many questions...I'll awnser them later and with that she layed in her bed and quickly fell asleep, the covers still bunched up (not covering her at all).

Ashel sighed as she headed back off to her small room, leaving him alone in the main part of the cabin.
He could feel an odd mixture of confusion and hurt in his chest, the boy unsure exactly of what it meant. In a way, he felt something close to kinship with her - they were both the same thing after all. Even though it was strange for him to admit it to himself, it hurt when she raised her voice at him. But he couldn't blame her - how could she possibly ever forgive him for buying her as a slave when he himself was keeping the secret that he was no different from her? Even if some part of him wanted to get closer to her, how would he ever be able to? Should he even have been concerned when she was gone? Did he even have a right to be? Maybe it would be better if he just left her alone as much as possible...
He just gave another downcast sigh before padding over and plopping down on his own bed, forcing his eyes closed again. He thought he noticed a slight dampness beneath them as they shut, but he refused to acknowledge it. Maybe things would seem different tomorrow...

Kimi woke up that morning to her stomach growling. Oh yeah...I didn't have any dinner last night she thought, realizing why she was hungry then remembering last night. She had yelled at Ashel when she didn't mean to. Should she go to him and apoligize or stay in her room a little while longer and tell him that she was sorry (again) later.
Maybe I'll stay in here for a little while longer, until Ashel comes and gets me...or I can be sure that it's near noon or somthing she thought as she got up and made her bed only to sit back down on it. It's my fault ,really, why I yelled. I left then came back and yelled at him because he was worried...I really should say sorry to him again....

Ashel awoke slowly, opening his eyes only to pull the blanket back over them. It was true that he definitely wasn't a morning person, but he felt even tireder than usual. Perhaps it was the recollection of the incident last night that was sapping his energy.
Hopefully she wasn't still mad. She had apologized after yelling and seemed to have calmed down, though she'd abruptly hurried to bed afterwards without giving him a chance to say anything.
Maybe I should apologize, too... It...wasn't really any of my business where she went, and at that late at night we weren't likely to get in trouble... I mean...I'm purely here because of necessity, nothing more... He sighed, before slowly forcing himself to sit up.
The ship's cafeteria was likely serving breakfast at this hour, and his stomach was aching in hunger. Most likely, hers would be, too. Maybe I should go ask her if she wants to go get something with me...
Getting up tiredly, he walked over to Kimi's door before, hoping she'd be inside this time. He hadn't heard her leave, but all the same he'd thought he'd heard quiet movement coming from the small room. It seemed like she was. "Umm...Kimi...?" He asked, knocking on the door without opening it. "The ship is probably serving breakfast. Do you want to go get some?"

Hm..I wounder where I could learn to cook, I mean professionally. It would be nice to work for pay as a cook an- her thoughts were cut off by Ashel's voice. "I-um...Sure" Kimi said, getting up opening the door to her room/closet. Seeing Ashel, she decided to put her plan into action about making up for yelling at him, and smiled.
Coming fully out of the room, she sielenty closed the door behind her and said "So where is breakfast being served?" she asked with a sweet, hopefully calming voice.

"Err...I think it's out in the main room, just out of the hallway for the cabins..." Ashel answered, realizing that he didn't know for sure. He smiled slightly, though. There was no aggression in her voice, and her lips were delicately upturned. At least she didn't appear angry anymore. He let out a slight, relieved sigh, feeling a bit better.
He turned and lead the way down the hall and towards the main inside room, indeed hearing the sound of clanging plates and silverware and chattering voices as they approached. He turned to her, though, as they neared, still feeling like he needed to say something about what happened the night before. "I...umm... I wanted to apologize for last night..." He suddenly commented out of the blue, not quite able to look her in the eyes. "It...wasn't really my place to go out looking for you - it was none of my business... I'm sorry..."

Startled by this out of the blue appoligy, she began to stutter a small bit. "I-I...um...it-t's ok. I fogive you", she said relived that he wasn't angry or anything at her. "I mean. I was a bit off last nightt. Sorry I yelled at you." she softly said, noticing that her face was begining to turn a soft red.
Embarrased, she began to walk into the room, trying to hide her blush. "I thing we should go get somthing to eat" she said faster than she wanted to say as she walked into the room, trying to find where everyone got their food at.

Feeling his own face heat slightly, Ashel lingered behind a few moments before quickly running to catch up with her. He definitely felt relieved, though - at least that was over with, and things seemed okay between them.
"It...looks like there's a line there." He observed, gesturing to what looked like a line-up for a buffet table. They'd come a little bit later than most of the other passengers, so a lot of the people were already sitting down with their food, there were still between five to ten people ahead of them though. Hurrying, he took his own place in the line, grabbing a plate for himself as he waited.

Following, Kimi took a plate and waited for the line to move up, but it felt like ages for the line to budge. She looked up at Ashel then looked down, her eyes half closed. When should I take the collar off? Not now, certinaly, but maybe tonight or tomarrow morning... Finally, the line moved ahead and she could serve herself.
Once she reached the end of the line, she had a peice of buttered toast, some strawberries (they looked thawed, so they most likely came from Asteria), a glass of milk, and some eggs, but compared to her plate, it was small. She never was really given the chance to eat so much ,accually. Even when she wasn't a slave. Her parents may have had loads of money, but they always forgot about food somehow.
Instantly, Kimi walked over to a small, empty tabel in the corner of the room. It looked like it could have about three people seated at it, but there was nothing else smaller that hadn't already been taken. She sat down and began to eat her toast.
