Ashel felt his own face redden slightly at the request, especially as he noticed a pink tint in hers. "Umm...s...sure..." He sputtered, before slowly pushing himself out of the chair and coming up behind her.
He felt the blush deepen when he gently brushed some of her brunette hair away with his hands, searching for the hook. He was careful to keep his hands away from her face when he found it, quickly but carefully undoing the latch. "There!" He smiled as he promptly stepped back with his face still red, the collar starting to fall away from her neck.

"Oh, um. Thanks" Kimi said, catching the collar as if fell towards her lap. She looked down at the collar, then asked. "Do you want it back?" She didn't mind if he didn't. It could always be a keep sake for her upcoming journeys in Asteria, like a reminder of Sailand, even if the collar didn't represent it all.
"Um..." she began, looking down at the game. "I belive it's your turn." she said, her slight blush fadding away. She made herself promise she wouldn't blush again in the next hour, at least.

"Oops..." He sputtered, moving back over to his seat. His face was still slightly red, but he tried to force the blush to fade as hers did. Why were they blushing about such a simple little thing, anyway? He asked himself. It's...not like the were... Were they really even friends? He found his eyes wandering back towards the girl sitting across from him. He'd made her a slave even though they were, in reality, equals. He'd lied to and wronged her. But...here they were, playing checkers, and planning on going to a dance later. He knew he didn't deserve to, but...could he now call this person his friend?
He quickly looked down at the board again as he felt his cheeks start to heat up once more before the blush could even fade all the way from before, hoping that it would be gone by the time he looked back up. He moved the same piece that he had last turn to another space, before finally moving his eyes back up. "There, your turn. And no, I don't want the collar back. Unless you for some reason want to keep it, I'll take it and get rid of it, though."

"I guess I'll keep it then..." Kimi said, placing the collar gentaly onto her lap as she began to study the board and her options of sucess. Finally, she moved an untouched peice forward. Looking back up at Ashel, she didn't really say anything, but her expression said that it was his move, and that he better watch out. She had a plan up her sleeve.

Briefly wondering why she wanted to keep the collar that was a symbol of her enslavement, Ashel just nodded, before looking back down and watching as she made her move.
Her expression afterwards made him slightly uneasy. She was quiet this time, and there was an eager gleam in her eyes that warned him that she was up to something. He studied the board more intensely this time, trying to imagine what she could be planning. He really wished now that he was more experienced with this game - she clearly knew what she was doing, but, try as he might, he couldn't find any huge threat as he looked over the pieces. Eventually, only able to hope that he wasn't missing something, though he was almost certain that he was, he moved an untouched piece of his own up a space.

Kimi saw a chance and took it. She took three of his pieces with one move. She let her victorious smile dissipate, for it felt out of character to her; evil. She yawned and rubbed her eye even though she was awake. Maybe that late night flight wasn't such a good idea after all, she thought to herself. It now felt aqward not having the collar around her neck, even though she had only worn it for three or four days.

Ashel frowned in surprise as she took three of his pieces in a single move, annoyed with himself for not seeing it before. The girl wore a victorious, devious grin for a moment, before she simply dismissed it with a tired yawn.
She looked tired. Would she have enough energy for the dance tonight? If she didn't, it might save him some embarrassment. But at the same time, even though he was nervous about it, he found himself actually looking forward to it. He hoped she would.
Studying the board again, Ashel took one of her pieces with the same piece he'd moved last time...the best move that he could find to counter.

Kimi looked down at the board. She was winning, but then again, Ashel hadn't really played before, had he? Was she taking advantage over him about that? Was it so wrong to win if you had more experince? She dissmined the thought since she didn't like to question herself.
She looked at the board. She didn't have much to do so she just moved on ahead a space since there wasn't much for her to do. She looked around for a clock. Finding one, it read elleven fifteen.
Wow, time goes really slow right now. I would have thought it to be at least tweleve thirty or one o'clock, she thought in suprise. Time wasn't flying very fast as she hoped it to. At this rate, she feared she'd die or either embarresment or boredom before the dance.
Then the thought of having a dance on a boat ride, annually, came to mind. Then again, maybe the captin knew that +Anima tryed to run away and wanted to let them have a nice time before traveling, or somthing. But even if, that was still a very out-of-the-blue thought.
"So..." she said, breaking the sielence "You looking forward to the dance, later tonight?" she asked. She was partly looking forward to the event, but also just wanting to get to Asteria as quick as possible.
[[Sorry I hadn't posted in this in a while, I had a rp block in this rp, so...yeah. But I made myself post!]]

"E...err..." Ashel sputtered, a red tint immediately coming to his face. They were going together as partners, how would it sound if he said he was looking forward to it?
"Y...yeah..." He answered honestly, already feeling his heart start to pound. Any thought of the dance made him nervous, but all the same he found himself feeling somewhat excited about it. "I...I mean, it'll be a way to pass the time...right?" He added, trying to distract from his momentarily deepening blush. "...What about...you?" He asked back, shuffling his tense hands in his lap before giving his attention back to the checker board.
He moved one of his pieces up a space. Depending on what she did next turn, he planned that he might be able to take a couple of hers on his next round.
[[Don't worry about it ^^...this checkers scene is a bit difficult to work with...]]

"Oh, yeah. I just I am too" Kimi said, partly laughting so that a blush couldn't emerge(sp?) but it seemed that Ashel didn't mind about his face currently turning red. She smiled and looked down at the board and moved a piece of hers forward. She had done so much in the begining that she did't have much to do now. But her plan now was to king one of her peices.
"It sounds fun doesn't it?" she asked, suprised at herself. She had ,at first, not talked at all to Ashel, even when he had bought her, but now she was talking alot more than she would have expected herself to in a week of her sister's death.
The dance sounds like fun, but...Ashel and I will be going...together. But it's not like we asked each other to go? Did we? she thought to herself. If they were going, wouldn't they kind of be going together. What types of sounds would they be playing? Oh please, no couple songs.
[[Yeah it is -_-. hahahaha, I noticed sumtin funny. Ashel seemed to be more worried about the dance than Kimi XD]]

Ashel nodded after a brief moment of hesitation. "Yeah, it does sound like it could be fun." He agreed, a smile coming across his still slightly red face. "Time seems to go by so slowly on this boat, it's nice that the crew came up with something different for the passengers to do for a while. ...What kind of hobbies do you normally like to do just for fun, or when you're bored?" He asked, trying to keep a light conversation going so no awkward silences came up.
He looked back down at the board as he realized it was his turn. Taking his chance, he moved one of his pieces and took a couple of hers.
[[lol, I think Ashel just has a tendency to over-worry. XP]]

"Hobbies?" Kimi muttered to herself. Slowly, she moved one of her peices forward. "King me" she said as she let go of the peice.
Hobbies were ment for those that didn't have much to do and needed somthing to occupy their time but when she lived with her family, there hadn't really been a time were she was bored or needed somthing to keep her entertained. There had always been somthing to do if it was from gathering herbs to shopping in the village for bread and meats.
"I never really had a hobbie. I was always stuck with chores" she said as she awaited his move in the game.

"Oh..." Ashel pondered dryly, a slight note of sympathy in his voice, even though he couldn't tell from her voice if she'd felt sorry for herself for having to work so hard, or if it was something she'd enjoyed. "...You don't have a favorite thing you like to do?"
It seemed odd not to have a hobby of some sort, but...now that he thought about it, he'd have had a hard time answering that question, too. Most of his time was taken up by his studies, and even in his brief periods of free time, he was mostly stuck alone in his house. "Heh..." He continued, giving a slight, ironic laugh. "I guess I don't really either..."
Looking back down at the game board, he placed another piece on top of hers to king it with a slight sigh, before simply moving another one of his up.
It was kind of sad, though, wasn't it? He realized. Wasn't it unusual that neither one of them could name something that they loved to do?
He abruptly swallowed hard, a thought suddenly coming to him. "What about...flying?" He started hesitantly, and quiet enough that no one else would be able to hear. Even though just talking about his +anima made him uncomfortable, he couldn't help but remember the sparkle in her eyes as she'd flown around the ship. Or the way that a part of him had wanted to join her. "Do you...like to fly?"

"Um...I guess" Kimi said, smiling slightly. She had only flown two or three times, including the flight last night. But even when she had, she enjoyed it immensely. The wind and endless possibilities that she could go to. It was nice though, but it came with worries of that someone might see you or try to get rid of you. The other two times she had taken flight was when she had first obtained her wings, and when her sister wanted to get to a small island in a lake.
"Do you?" she asked took her king piece and took two of Ashel's pieces. She knew that he didn't particularly like his +anima, but did he enjoy it when his parents weren't talking about the fact that it was 'an accident'?

"Well...I..." He started, his voice portraying his uncertainty.
Did he?
His shame over his +anima kept him from using it much. He'd had it for years, but he could count on his fingers the number of times he'd used it. And when he had, he'd only been focused on getting back out of it as soon as possible. He'd never given himself permission to enjoy it.
But when he'd seen her fly, something inside him stirred. It was beautiful. The truth was, it almost scared him. He'd never let himself even consider such thoughts before. Was there a part of him that yearned to fly, too? What would it feel like if he did give himself permission?
"I don't know." He answered, forcing a casual smile as he distractedly readjusted his glasses. What a lame answer. Am I ever sure of anything? He scolded himself internally. "I've been brought up to hate it, but..." His voice trailed off, the boy visibly biting his bottom lip before forcing his eyes back down to the board.
He managed to take one of her pieces this turn, but he'd lost a good handful of his own pieces now...
