"Umm..." He thought for a moment, going over the small number of games he knew in his head. "I suppose that this is actually my favorite, too. I like this and chess."
He suddenly found himself wishing he'd gotten to play games like this with his parents. They'd always pushed him so hard, but had never stopped to just do anything fun with him like this. His parents... He wasn't necessarily homesick, but at the thought of them, he found himself wondering what they were doing right now. Did they miss him? Or were they relieved to have their +anima son gone for a while? Still, he hadn't even been gone very long yet. Kimi's parents were still alive too, weren't they? But she hadn't seen them in a long time... "Do you...miss your parents at all?" He asked out of the blue, before suddenly regretting it. He wasn't sure it if it was hard for her to think about her family.
Absently dragging his gaze back down to the board quickly, he noticed that she'd advanced one piece a space towards one of his remaining pieces, but wasn't sure what he could do to save it. Instead, he moved one of his a space towards hers as well.
[Sure. It might be more convenient that way.]

"I...uh...no" Kimi said looking down at the board, trying not to make any eye contact with Ashel. "I don't...but I'm worried for them" she said with a small gulp. She didn't miss the endless chores and tireless days. She didn't miss hiding her +anima from her parents either. Her parents always seemed...dull and tired when she and her sister were around. Maybe since they were both gone.
"Does that make sense?" she asked Ashel, finally making eye contact with him. In her head, it made sense. But in words? Did it make sense then?
She studied the board. He had moved his piece towards hers and if she moved forward, her piece would be taken and going back would give him the upper hand. Maybe she could use another one of her pieces? No, one was corned by his piece and her other one was too far. She bit her lip and moved the far piece forward, out of it's safe zone.

"Does that make sense?"
Ashel was silent for a moment as Kimi looked up at him, thinking over the question while she studied the board.
Worrying about them but not necessarily missing them. He supposed it did. He didn't know whether or not she'd been close to her parents - from the way she talked it'd sounded like she'd been closer to her sister...but worrying about them still meant that she cared about them as her parents, even if she wasn't really bothered by the fact that she wasn't around them. The two thoughts weren't really contradictory.
"I think it does." He eventually answered slowly. He wondered how he would end up feeling if he didn't decide to go back. Would he end up feeling the same way?
Moving his gaze down to the board, he realized that she was starting to get in a tight spot as well. She'd only been able to move one of her pieces on the far end of the board, and now even that one wasn't that safe. He moved one of his pieces a space towards that one.

"Hm...Mitsuki ,er my sister, would probably not even be worried for our parents if she was in my position. I guess you could say that she was the type to want to throw her anger at some thing, or some one, when something didn't turn out just right" Kimi explained, wiping away a tear that was forming in her eye. She could vividly remember how her sister looked and remembered perfectly how her sister acted. The thin, short blonde with an addituted, but she still loved her.
Kimi took the same piece, that was one far away, and moved it towards Ashel's. Now the two only had one space inbetween them.

Mitsuki...so that was her name. That whole description sounded vaguely familiar. It took him a few moments to figure out why, though, before it suddenly came to him.
There was a girl by that name who he'd seen a few times at some of the nobels' parties and get-togethers. There'd been some talk about her as she was not actually a born nobel. She'd been adopted by one of the high up families in Stella - apparently they found her struggling alone in the water while canoeing, and had decided to make her one of their own. That family actually got on pretty well with his parents - he'd been introduced to her shortly after she'd been adopted. Most of the time, the somewhat younger girl was quiet, sweet, and polite, but she did seem to have an occasional anger about her that could actually make he a bit intimidating.
Saved from the water... What had Kimi said had happened to her sister again? A thought struck him, before he brushed it off. It couldn't be...could it? Still...
"What did she looked like...?" He asked, unable to help himself. Hopefully the question wouldn't sound too odd.
Distractedly, he simply moved one of his pieces that he could up a space, having trouble focusing on the game.

"She, I, um..." Kimi said absent mindly. The question had actually came as a suprise to her. Why did he need to know why her dead sister looked like. Well, not like it really mattered, anyways, but it still struck her as odd.
"She's kind of thin, short for her age...um...blonde and green eyes" she said, describing what her sister looked like. The only thing that truely made the two girls look like sisters were their eyes; the distintive forest green colored eyes. Otherwise, the two wouldn't even look like they were sisters in anyway.
"Um...why?" she asked, hoping he would give her a reasonable awnser.

Thin and short, blonde, green eyed...
Ashel tensed up in spite of himself. That matched the description of the girl he was thinking of exactly!
"Oh! Umm..." She sputtered, trying to think of how the answer. Should he even mention it to her? If there really was no relation, and he still had a hard time believing that there could be, he would just be getting her hopes up falsely, wouldn't he? But...he didn't want to lie to her. "There's a girl I know with that name... I think she's about fourteen - she was adopted by some of my parent's friends, apparently they found her and saved her from drowning. I was just..." His voice trailed off - this felt a bit awkward. "She did look a bit like that..." He added more quietly, hoping that he wouldn't be setting her up to end up upset.

Kimi sat there shocked. There was a possiblity that her sister was still...alive? No, it couldn't be. She saw her go under and she hadn't seen any lords or ladys on the water at the time. But still, if Ashel said that he could have seen her sister she could turn around and go back to Sailand. Just maybe. But, she had already gone through all this trouble to get on this way to Asteria, but now her priorities are different. If there is even a chance her sister is still alive, she should look into it...right?
Kimi got up abrutly, wanting to get up now and fly off back to Stella, but it was still daylight and it would be easier to fly in the twilight. She sat back down, smoothing out her skirt as if trying to act that she hadn't done something before.

"Uh...umm..." Ashel tensed, surprised at her abrupt reaction before she sat back down. "Are you okay? I mean...it's probably not... It's probably a coincidence...maybe I shouldn't have... There's no way it could be... Is there?" He sputtered, his words disjointed as he fought with himself about what to say.
What were the odds that the Mitsuki he knew could really be Kimi's supposedly dead sister? A part of him wanted to keep pointing that out, and regretted ever mentioning it - he had a feeling he'd just greatly disturbed their peaceful trip to Astaria, and probably over nothing. But...what if it was her? The description was uncanny... He just hoped she wouldn't do anything rash.

"Well, it is a possibility..." Kimi sighed, though she doubted it was a coincidence. She looked down at the board. Even though she had the better start to the game, it looked more like Ashel was in position to win. Maybe she should go take that bath now, just to lay down and sort out her thoughts.
"I'm going to go take a bath" she decided as she stood up one more. She moved quickly out of the room and down the halls down to her- Ashel's- room. Wait, should slaves be allowed to...wait no, she reached up to her neck. The collar wasn't on her neck anymore. It was held tightly in her hand instead.
She looked over her shoulder before entering the room and making her way over to the bathroom. In it was a toliet, a nice looking sink- which was much better than the tub of water used as a sink back home- and a rather nice bath. She let warm water spill into the tub, watching it fill up. Once full with warm water, she discarded her dirty clothes on the floor and let herself sink into the bath. It was nice an warm, really relaxing too.
Now, back to her thoughts, Kimi began to think about when- if- she should leave. If it wasn't her sister, she'd have given up going to Asteria and possibly becoming a slave again. But, if it was her sister and she didn't go, she'd...she didn't know what she'd do. And if she left and it was her sister, doing well too, she wouldn't have to be so worried anymore and could go back to Asteria.
Then it's decided, she thought detrimined. I'll leave at twilight when...if...no ones looking.

"Ah!" Ashel stood up as Kimi got back up to her feet, but she left before he managed to get anything else out of his mouth.
He just sighed, staring off in the direction she'd disappeared in, before plopping back down to his seat. He distractedly glanced down at the checkers board. It seemed like the game had been forgotten now...and just when he'd started to catch up. Oh well... But what was he going to do now? Apparently she was headed for the bath, and he obviously couldn't follow her there.
He suddenly felt a bit lonely, sitting alone by the unfinished board game while all the other people in the main room chatted busily in their groups. Maybe he should just go back to his room too...
Getting back up, he padded down the hall until he came back to their room. The bathroom door was closed inside - Kimi was probably already in the bath. He walked passed it and collapsed onto his bed, stretching out. He looked over to the table at his bedside, searching it for something to do. He wished now that he'd brought something besides textbooks - he didn't feel like studying at all anymore. Maybe later he could see if the boat had a library with any good fictional books to read, but he didn't feel like getting up again right away.
He absently wondered what Kimi was going to do now. She'd said that she thought it was a possibility. From the way she talked about her sister, he couldn't imagine her just letting that go. He sighed again. He'd actually started to feel content on this boat with her. But now that she knew her sister might be alive, would she just forget about him again now? What about the dance later, would she even still want to go? Would she even go to Astaria at all? True, they were already on a boat out on the ocean, but she did have wings... Deciding not to think about it anymore for now, he turned to the window and just watched the waves outside.

Hearing Ashel enter the room, and ploping himself down somewhere, she decided to hurry up her bath. Dragging herself out of the bath, she pulled a towel around herself and quickly dried herself off and pulled back on her clothes. It wasn't like she had brought any other clothes; she was a slave then.
Her hair wet and sticking to her neck and face, she noticed Ashel looking out at the waves. Then, for a second, she didn't know what to do. She just stood there feeling an aqward feeling. After standing there for a moment or two, she decided to walk towards Ashel and, well, tell him what she was planning on doing.
"Ashel..." she said in a quiet voice.

Hearing his name, Ashel turned away from the hypnotic view of the water and looked behind him to find Kimi standing there. He was almost startled at first - he'd been so absorbed in his thoughts that he hadn't heard her get out.
"Yes...? What is it?" He answered, a bit taken aback by the quietness of her tone. He sat all the way up, curious what she was going to say. From the way she was speaking, he had a feeling that it was going to be something serious, which made him a bit nervous.

Kimi swallowed. What would he do when she told him? Would he be angry at her or would he follow her? She sure hoped he wouldn't get angry. "I-I...I'm going to go back...back to Sailand," she said softly.
Then her voice raised a little. "I mean, I want to know if...how...she survived. I mean...I really want to know" she said, her voice softening as she spoke. She closed her eyes, waiting for something to happen.

Ashel was silent a moment, looking down at his feet.
Right. She was going to go back to Sailand. He still half wished that he'd never mentioned anything. He'd feel horrible for bringing it up at all if she abandoned her journey to freedom is Astaria and made the trip all the way back, only to find out that his words had falsely gotten her hopes up. But...he wouldn't have mentioned it if he hadn't thought that there was at least a chance that it could be her. He understood that she wanted to know now. But...
"Then...I...I'm coming with you!" He decided, his own voice coming out louder than he'd expected. He wanted to know now if the person he mentioned really was her. And he had no reason himself to go to Astaria. Besides...a part of him just didn't want to see her leave him. "I...I mean...you're going to fly, right? I can...too... And I can help you find her when we get there!" He added, trying to make himself sound useful. He twiddled his thumbs somewhat nervously, awaiting her response. Would she want him to come?
