Kiri looked around, briefly debating. "Umm...maybe I'll come with you." She eventually decided. She didn't want to seem unfriendly, but being around all these new people that she didn't really know yet sounded a bit intimidating without Mika around. Glancing around at them, she realized that she didn't think she even knew all their name's yet.
She could hear the wood creak as she followed Mika downstairs, but the steps seemed surprisingly steady. The space was a bit tight in the main hallway, but it seemed to widen out a bit in the rooms that branched off it. She wondered what the rooms all were. Only one was for sleeping, right?

Mika made her way downstairs to the bedroom. Her bed was the bottom bunk the furthest from the rest. There was a top bunk above her's and no one slept there, so that's where Kiri would. And under there was a drawer where she had kept her clothes. She pulled it out and dug through some of her old stuff. She hadn't really grown since spring, so the clothes would still fit her. She grabbed a pair of heavily worn denim jeans, a long sleeve black shirt and a new pair of boots. Probably a gift for returning from the crew. She pulled on the plain outfit, unlike the one she had just gotten wet. She sighed as she folded up her wet clothes. She was going to have to put them up to dry later. She didn't feel like doing it now, since she noticed the clothes wire wasn't up.
She looked over at Kiri and said, "So, you really want to come? I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to, you know." She just wanted to make sure the girl knew what she was doing.

Kiri took a moment to carefully ponder the thought. The thought of being away from land for so long still made her a bit nervous, but the idea of being on a ship still sounded exciting too - much more so than the quiet, repetitive life she'd lived at Kilter before she'd met Mika. Even their journey to the port had been enjoyable, and besides, she liked spending time with Mika, more so than she had with anyone at the orphanage, and the fact that they were both +anima also made her feel a certain kinship with her. And besides...without her father, what did the land really hold for her, anyway? Yes - she wanted to go.
"Of course!" She chimed, realizing that she was making a long lasting decision. What was life if you never took a chance and did anything different? "As long as it's okay with everyone else, I want to go." She spoke surely. "...How long will we be at sea, anyway?" She asked curiously after a pause, noticing that she never really had.

"Im sure everyone will be fine with you around. We needed a pair of extra hands anyways" Mika confessed for the rest of the crew. It was true. Sometimes they just couldn't get things done around here. She wondered what happened on the boat if she was gone for a year then. Maybe they just payed for repairs and extra stuff while she was gone. d**n, she'd have to do more if that was the case.
"And...well, since it's winter, well be stopping at land very often for supplies. Maybe a week or two before we stop at land. Depends on how much we eat and how fast we can get to the land." She thought on something for a while. "And just to let you know, we usually stop at Sailand for supplies, so...yeah. The +anima thing, you know," she said aqwardly. Then she heard some of the crew getting ready to set sail.

Sailand... Kiri was briefly silent. She'd heard of it, but never been there. She liked the idea of seeing another country, but Sailand...that was were they did horrible things to +anima, wasn't it? That was were they were kept at slaves and sold at auctions, just like objects! She wasn't an object! The idea of it infuriated her, but...if she could swallow her words, she was sure she would be able to hide her +anima. After all, her and Mika had traveled together for a long time, and had never found each other out.
She nodded. "Right. I'll be careful to hide my +anima once we leave Astaria." She turned and listened to the voices of the crew above. Were they leaving now? She felt her heart pound a bit, both in anxiousness and anticipation. At least it sounded like they would be stopping on land every so often. Even though she liked the idea of taking to the sea, the idea of occasionally be able to step off the boat made it seem less intimidating.

"Alright," Mika said. Then she felt a suddend lurch of the boat tilting one way, which was normal for them when they left a port. Mika struggled to stand on one foot until she regained her balance. She stood there, in silence, looking up at the ceiling and then down at the floor, as if looking for something, and she was. A loose board or two. She believed she heard something sqeek on the way down here.
"Well, we're off now," she told Kiri as she walked around the room, still looking for the loose board. Hearing a squeeking noise, she stopped, a look of triumph on her face. She looked down. On the board was a loose nail. She dropped to her knees and tried to pull the loose nail out just a bit more, as a marker. Once finished with that, she walked to the door.
"I have to get my tools. Wanna come with?" she asked Kiri. She still needed to show the girl around the place. And, heck, it might come in handy one day for Kiri to know where the tools are.

Kiri tensed in surprise as the boat suddenly lurched, the girl finding herself falling to an ungraceful sit on the floor as the unexpected movement knocked her over. "Oww..." She complained quietly, using the nearest wall to balance herself as she quickly got up.
The floor was still swaying slightly, more so than it had been when she'd first got on, but she could stand now. Did that mean they'd just left the dock?
Mika confirmed it a moment later, Kiri watching as the other girl scanned the room. She wasn't sure what she was doing at first, but figured it had something to do with repairs when she pulled out a nail a bit and asked her if she wanted to go with her to fetch tools. That's right. Wasn't that a big part of what Mika did on the ship?
"Sure." Kiri nodded with a smile - at least then she'd get to see more of the ship that would be her home now, at least for the time being.

Mika smiled. "Alright, then," she said, "this way," she said as she left the room and back into the hall ways of the ship. She lead Kiri down a few doors, listening intently to hear any other loose floor boards. Heck, if she was going to fix one, she might as well fix any others that might be around the boat. Finally, infront of the door she remembered to have kept all her tools, she opened the door to see her tools missing.
"I guess I've been gone a bit too long," she said to herself, a slightly tone of anger in her voice as she closed the door and began to check the other ones. Where had her tools gone?! Her beloved tools she used for just about everything on the ship. After searching about five rooms, she gave up and sat down on the floor.
"d**n it," she said to herself softly. Maybe one of the guys did this, but she seriously doubted that. They knew not to touch her tools. She ran her fingers through her short brown hair as she looked at the floor.

Kiri sighed as she sat down next to Mika, a bit tired from the tool search. At least she had gotten to see more of the boat that way, with all the rooms they'd gone to, but Mika seemed distracted.
"Maybe one of the guys moved it." She suggested. "You should ask them if they kept it somewhere for you." If that were likely to be the case, she figured that Mika would've already asked them, but... "Where else could they go?" She asked aloud. After all, no one else ever boarded this ship, did they?

"Maybe they did," Mika mumbled to herself, getting up off the floor. They knew not to touch her stuff, but maybe since she was gone they needed the space for something and forgot to return it. Well, who's ever idea that was, they were sure to get a beating. She began to walk to the stairs that would lead her to the deck and then stepped onto the deck, hands on her hips. The crew turned towards her, a scared look on their faces. Then they pretended to return to work.
"Did anyone move my tools?!" she asked loudly. They guys started to whistle, as if she wern't there. She closed her fist tightly, annoyed. Then Tobi came over.
"I'm sorry," he apoligized. It shocked Mika. Tobi never apoligized. What was going on? "There was some damage to the ship and we thought we could fix it and, well, we did, but..." -he looked out at the waters- "it feel in."
Mika stood there rather shocked. Her tools. Her tools were gone. And Tobi didn't go into the waters to look for them!?
"Before you come to any conclusions-" but before he could finish, Mika had slapped him.
"You mean to tell me you used my tools, then dropped them into the sea without going now for them?!" she yelled. Then No-Name came over.
"Hey, don't get angry at him. It's all our fault. We were in a rocky area. Tobi couldn't have gone after your tools," No-Name explained.
"Oh..." Mika said softly. She felt like crying. She had hit her friend because...because... "I'm sorry Tobi..." she said softly. He looked up at her and smiled.
"No worries," he said with a smiled. Mika smiled back. "We'll get you a new set," he said. Mika was a bit worried about that, though. A new set? Her set had costed over 3000 gillah. It was top quality, but they could afford it at the time. She wasn't so sure about now.
[[Um...yeah. That's his name, No-Name. He's never had a name so everyone calls him no-name or a quick nickname for whatever he's doing at the moment]]

Kiri hovered by the doorway, her eyes opening wider as Mika slapped the boy named Tobi across the face. She hadn't known her for that long, but that was the first time she'd seen her get that angry. Those tools must've been really important to her... The girl bit her bottom lip, still feeling surprised, but also sorry for her. She hardly knew any of her shipmates at all yet, but she was sure they hadn't lost them on purpose, though - from the way she'd spoken of them, they sounded like a pretty tightly-knit group. Surely they'd known she'd be upset.
Noticing that Mika seemed to have calmed down, Kiri made her way from the staircase and towards her companion. "See, it'll be okay. I'm sure the loose boards can wait for a little while, and maybe you can get a nicer set, after all, those tools had to be pretty old, didn't they?" The girl regretted her words right after they'd left her mouth. She'd meant them to try and cheer her up, but she quickly realized that she could take them the wrong way. After all, keeping the ship in shape seemed important to Mika, and she didn't know how expensive her old tools might've been, or if they'd had sentimental value. She hoped she hadn't said anything wrong...
